March winds bring April showers. April showers bring May flowers. May flowers bring June reunions. This is just a way of reminding you that by the time you read this column our "tremendous tenth" will be just a little over two months away. Tom Kelsey's team is moving into high gear, and now is the time for all of us to lend our utmost cooperation. As of the moment we are over the 400 mark in yes-we-are-going responses, and we are shooting for 450. This would be a record turnout and top the mark established by the class of '53 last year. Get those registration forms and deposits in as quickly as possible. Delay on your part in doing so will mean that one of Tom's 30 regional boosters, whose job is to keep the ball rolling, will have to contact you. Your speedy compliance with the necessary requests of the reunion committee will save a lot of time and effort and will be much appreciated by everyone concerned.

The First National Bank of Boston sent an interesting article to Hanover concerning our Ben Bowden, and it was reprinted in the February 10 issue of "The Dartmouth." Ben currently heads the bank's International Factoring operation, which requires periodic trips overseas and person-to-person contacts with member companies in the bank's growing network of International Factors. He lives in Beverly, a suburb of Boston, with his wife, Lorna, and their three children.

In December Jon Moore was appointed Special Assistant to William P. Bundy, former Assistant Secretary of Defense for International Security Affairs and recently appointed Assistant Secretary of State for Far Eastern Affairs. Richard K. Trowbridge is manager of the Norwalk business office of the Southern New England Telephone Company and active in Norwalk civic and social affairs. He is a director of the Norwalk Chamber of Commerce, the Norwalk Little League, and the Kiwanis Club (secretary- elect for 1964). He is also a member of the mayor's Historic Site Committee, the Toast- masters Club and the Norwalk Service Club. He has served in United Fund campaigns in Norwalk and was chairman of the 1963 campaign's Mercantile and Service Division. Dick, his wife Marjorie, and their two children reside in South Norwalk.

From Atlantic City, N. J., comes word of a move to draft Herbert Jacobs, deputy U. S. attorney, as a candidate for city commissioner by the First Ward Liberal Democratic Club of that city. Prior to his appointment to the federal post, Herb had received his law degree-from New York University and practiced law for two years in Atlantic City. Dr. Richard L. Kolbe is another one of our classmates being called upon to speak before groups and clubs in his area. Dick is assistant professor of politics and economics at Cedar Crest College and recently addressed the Sales and Marketing Executives Club of Allentown-Bethlehem, Pa.

Two classmates who recently took the matrimonial plunge both plan to settle in Boston. Returning from a honeymoon in Alaska were Frank Carey Jr. and the new Mrs. Carey, the former Suzanne Houle. In Baltimore this past January Jane Gordon was married to Richard G. Brace, and unlike the Careys they went south, to the Virgin Islands. Jane graduated from Wheaton College.

In case you missed it in the March issue of the ALUMNI MAGAZINE, Pete Kirby was a member of the Canadian bobsled team which won a gold medal at the recent Winter ter Olympics. The interesting article about Pete was in the Big Green Teams section of the magazine.

Jerry Barton proudly announced the arrival of his second child, John, on February 24. Jerry is an orthopedic surgeon practicing in Norwalk, Conn. He, his wife Cathy, and their four-year-old daughter live in Westport.

In closing I would like to say that we members of the nominating committee selected to draw up another executive committee slate will be grateful to any of you wishing to suggest names as possible candidates. The deadline for sending in names to Rod Rockefeller is drawing near and we'd like to hear from you.
