These notes will be brief and turned in for printing considerably past the April 5 deadline. It is so for a selfish and pleasant reason, however. A new little man, Timothy Curtis Jaeger, arrived two weeks early on March 26 and our house hasn't yet returned to normal.
I'll fill you in on the items I have been able to collect in between feedings. Tiger Sands is busy at his new job with the Development Office here in Hanover. He manages to stuff his lacrosse stick in his brief case and stay in shape. Dennis Lacoss's wife Jet writes of the birth of their first child, Donald Francis Lacoss, on their second wedding anniversary, February 24 in Charlotte, N. C. John Cook, in the formal announcement of his November marriage to Nancy Wolens, wrote of his plans to finish up his M.A. in Anthropology at Brown while his wife gets her M.A. in Art. This summer he will "dig in Alaska" and then on to U. of Wisconsin or Penn for a Ph.D. Dave Marr, now in the U.S. Marines, has been awarded a James B. Reynolds Scholarship by Dartmouth for the study of Vietnamese at the University of Saigon. Mike Cronin is back in the news this month. He was sworn in as an attorney in New Haven Superior Court and is working for a law firm in New London, Conn.
This being a big political year, Bob Czelusniak has thrown his hat in the ring for the Democratic nomination as candidate for Registrar of Deeds in Northampton, Mass. He's running against a former mayor of the town. Good luck, "Coloos," give 'em the old dirty rush. And also in the competitive spirit, Dave Britton was written-up in a February edition of The Philadelphia Inquirer as being a favorite in the Pennsylvania giant slalom championship. He had several titles to defend from previous years. Hope he did it! Joe Wattleworth, formerly with the traffic research section of the Illinois Division of Highways, has been named as assistant research engineer with Texas A. and M. University's Texas Transportation Institute. He has worked on several big freeway projects since completing his M.A. in civil engineering at the Big Green and an M.A. and Ph.D. in the same at Northwestern. Joe has published several articles on his field and received recognition in competition within his profession.
Wedding plans continue. Don Folkers and Janet Louise Richardson announced their engagement in late February. Don is with the First National Bank of Boston. Janet is head of the Admission Office of the Harvard Medical School in Boston. She might have been handy to a few of you several years ago. John Capper and Heidi Schlosser plan to marry in June. Both are presently at Michigan State University.
I had a pleasant surprise visit from Markand Betsy Gates a few weeks back. They were in the East on business and pleasure and stayed in Hanover for a few days. By now they've been home several weeks with their son, daughter, and the law profession Mark works at in the Los Angeles area. For sure, no column can take the place of a nice sincere face to face chat with a classmate you haven't seen in a while.
Weil, I said this would be brief — got to go warm the bottle. Give Woos and his men a hand with the Fund.
