Two Dartmouth 53's are on the move in the fast growing computer industry. BobHenderson has been promoted to director of field marketing for the Data Processing Division of Minneapolis Honeywell. He was previously Midwestern regional sales manager and was based in Chicago where he covered several nearby states. The promotion moves him to the division headquarters in Wellesley Hills, Mass. Bob and Carol will be living at 56 Westgate Road in Wellesley. Fred Carlton has been promoted to Eastern divisional manager of the Computer Division of Monroe International. He was previously regional manager in San Francisco. He will now be managing the Eastern states from the Home Office in Orange, N. J. Fred and Mollie have just bought a house in Westfield, N. J.
For the past few years Bob Callender has been commuting backwards from his New York City apartment to General Foods in White Plains. Bob is now working back in the Wall Street area as he just started a new job as the New York City representative of the Continental Illinois Bank. Gil Osborn has been named associate director of development at Hamilton College. Gil has been in this type of work for several years, most recently with a fund-raising and public relations firm. Fie has worked on capital fund drives for M.I.T. and Connecticut College and should be well trained to do a good job for Hamilton.
In the world of politics, Governor Nelson Rockefeller has announced the appointment of Bob Douglass as first assistant counsel to the Governor. Bob has assisted George L. Hinman, Republican National Committeeman from New York, since 1961. He has worked on the campaigns of Governor Rockefeller and former Senator Kenneth Keating. DickFleming has been appointed to the staff of Massachusetts Lt. Governor Elliot Richardson. Dick has worked as research director to the GOP state committee. Bill Johnson is in the news as a Republican State Senator from New Hampshire. Bill was one of the leaders in the House against the much publicized state lottery. He has just been elected chairman of the New Hampshire Republican state committee and is also majority leader in the state Senate.
One of the strongest holdouts among '53 bachelors will take the plunge. Gib Murphy is engaged to Leslie Taylor of West Hartford, Conn. Leslie is a graduate of the University of Hartford and is also counsel to the Senate Judiciary Committee of the Connecticut State Legislature. The law firm of Mason, Griffin & Moore in Princeton, N. J., has announced that Kester Pierson is now a member of their firm.
Captain Graf Sieber is a doctor and presently serving his two-year hitch in the Army. He finished his orthopedic residency last year and is now chief of orthopedics at the Fort Huachuca Army Hospital. Graf says that he loves Arizona and hopes to enter private practice there next year after ms discharge. He's only a few miles from the Mexican border and in addition to the warm weather and outdoor sports, he appreciates the cheap liquor prices in Mexico. ClydeClaus has been promoted to assistant vice president of the Marine Midland Trust Company of New York. He was formerly an assistant treasurer in their Western Division Clyde and his wife now live in Wyckoff, N.J.
Put Blodgett is starting Blodgett Camps, Inc. in Bradford, Vt. The new venture is a camp for boys and includes Ross McKenny on its staff. The camp has a 14-acre pond and 1200 acres of land. Put asks that if any classmates know of some prospects for his camp, they let him know.
As a final note we hear that Ted andPatti Spiegel have returned from Germany and are back in Chicago. Their stay in Germany included living in a castle.
