The Dayton Dartmouth Alumni Club has made its annual Dartmouth Citizenship Awards to seven area high school juniors. Winners receive a copy of Webster's Collegiate Dictionary, and their names are engraved on plaques displayed in their respective schools.
The awards were made this year by Dayton Alumni Club President Craig B. Harlan'59, Vice President Jack Kinderdine '61, and Treasurer Bruce Jump '57.
The boys were selected by faculty members in their respective schools, based on good citizenship, leadership, and scholastic ability. Winners in 1966 were Tim Keating, Roger Ward, Steve Folkerth, Barry Block, Kelly Alberts, Mark Sinkhorn, and John Fisler. Many of these, we hope, will be applicants for the class of '71.
More currently, seven Dayton area students will be entering Dartmouth this September. It will be the largest contingent from Dayton in several years. The group is an outstanding one including several football players and a National Merit scholar. The boys are Denny Bright, Gary Davis, Bill Hipps Jr., Mike Hughes (brother of John '66), Woody Kiefaber (brother of Warner III '64, and son of Warner Jr. '39), David Lange, and Bruce Watson.
