This month your obedient serpent has decided to come right to the news without any messing around with any funny patter.

News: A menu for a luncheon which took place in the Town and Gown Foyer of a restaurant somewhere in this country listed Mr. G. R. Greenfield as speaking on the Cost Analysis of Reliability Programs. The first person who tells me what that is will get a free lunch.

John Adams received an impressive write-up describing his appointment as a Foreign Service Officer for LBJ. The clipping pointed out that John will either 1.) serve in Washington or 2.) serve outside of Washington. The newspapers are being unhelpful already, John, better set the record straight with a letter.

Rick Jaspersen is attending the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy (I didn't think they could get along together) in Medford, Mass., at Tufts. When Rick gets all nicened up he will be sent to Chile to teach economics (and probably Law and Diplomacy).

Hot Flash: G. Grimley Burton, the Warbling Banjo Player, is about to take wife. She is Eileen Hankel of Astoria, Ore. Grimley has temporarily forsaken his banjo and is ... ready for this ... a financial analyst for IBM in the Big Apple. If your company's IBM computer seems to be humming Sweet Adeline it is probably one of the machines which Grim analyzed.

The Army in France (before being expelled) announced that Bill Shure has been promoted to captain on the staff of the judge advocate. Bill, my boy, perhaps if you practiced more diplomacy and less law DeGaulle would have let the Army remain in France.

What Some Guys Won't Do To Get Their Name In The "News - The Alumni Office received a letter from Ingalls Associates Advertising in Boston recommending that RayWelch be given a Wah-Hoo-Wah cuz he has just been named a vice-president. That's all fine but Welch signed the letter. By the way, Welch, where's the Edie Gorme record of mine you "borrowed?" I really truly need that record, Ray, so fork up.

All of you who trust the accuracy of this column and, as a result, have been looking for Hank Gerfen in Boston, working as an account executive, have been duped. He is in New York working as an account executive (with Warren, Muller and Dolobowsky) so get on a B&M and go see him. He's of- fered all the free beer you can drink (in 9 seconds), cheapskate.

Hank Eberhardt is really going gung ho Navy. He graduated on March 18 from the destroyer school in Newport. Maybe if you're good Hank will drive his destroyer up for a visit.

John Edwards who served in Viet Nam treating facial wounds is now back in North Carolina with his wife, Marilyn, and two children going onward to get an advanced degree in orthodontics at Chapel Hill.

Two last bits for this most newsy of months. Dick Raskin has been named intructor in French at Haverford College and Terry Rogers, now Doctor Terry Rogers is serving his internship in Philadelphia. Wife Joy is polishing his Pat Boone style white bucks every day. Well, suture-self, Joy.

Dartmouth clubbers who were playing orin attendance when the Pittsburgh RugbyFootball Club defeated the RochesterRugby Club, 33 to 3, included (front,l to r) Tim Flannery '66, Chuck Currie'65, Fred Baker '56, (rear) Pete Luitwieler '64, Alex Bur gin '61, Luke Edgar'63, Foster Aborn '56, Skip Johnson '61.

Attending the June wedding of Dave Smoyer '63 in Needham, Massachusetts, were(from left) groom's uncle Ed Brooks '36, Dave McCollum '63, groom's father StanSmoyer '34, bride Mary Howland Smoyer, the groom, and his brother Bill '67.
