1908

The class of 1908 has published a new directory as there have been so many changes since the 1964 issue. A few extra copies are available from Secretary LarrySymmes or your editor.

News is scarce at this time of year and was well covered in the November MAGAZINE.

The Hinmans and Soules expect to spend the winter in Florida as usual. Larry andDorothy Symmes enjoyed a cruise to South America in October. "Rosie" Hinman reported that he saw Freddie Munkelt at the Princeton game and added: "If Freddie used himself as the example for his actuarial statistics, the class of 1908 has a great future ahead of it."

Dolly Gray wrote to Larry Treadway "Thanks for your card commemorating that certain event in Manila, October 1, 1915 when Jane (she ditched the name of Jettie some 50 years ago) came out from Denver to marry me and become a Dartmouth affiliate.

"She tells me that the first time she ever heard of Dartmouth was when Myron Witham '04, who worked for her father, would drop in on Sunday evenings for a songfest. She was a freshman at the University of Nebraska at the time. She also knew Johnny Glaze when he was courting Marian Strauss, a pal of hers."

Art Soule in October wrote your editor. "I passed my 80th birthday last June but I can't see that it has had any serious effect on my life. Juliet and I play golf at least twice a week and we bathe here at Shelter in the ocean practically every day. I still sing in the choir, and all in all we fortunately had a very healthy and happy life."

He also reported a call on Helen andLarry Treadway. "Helen was out but Larry said she was just as sweet and cheerful as she always has been. We spent an hour chatting with Larry and, believe me, it was an hour well spent. He has what it takes and his theories of life as well as everything else are great."
