Student Social Center.
DECEMBER 1966

A good part of College Hall, a building which has served the College in many ways, is being transformed into a student social center. Proposed and planned by the students themselves (through the good offices of the Undergraduate Council), the idea for such a center readily gained both approval and support from the College administration. Much of the renovation work is also being done by the students.

The game room of College Hall is currently being transformed into a dancing-dining area and will eventually be furnished with tables and chairs from the former Hanover Inn Coffee Shop. Vending machines will dispense the edibles and student musicians selected by audition will provide the desired dance tunes. The television room will also be refurbished and equipped with cable TV, and the lounge will be spruced up for faculty-student meetings and art exhibitions.

All the pool and ping pong tables will be transported across campus to the empty spaces in the basement of Webster Hall. Those areas also will be renovated to make them suitable as the games division of the social center.

The student planners and workers hope to provide an interesting social facility for freshmen and independents that will also be attractive to fraternity members.
