As the publishing year nears its end, one of the pleasant opportunities relative to the class secretaryship presents itself. This is the privilege of attending class officers meetings at the College in May. As this final column of the current series is being written, thoughts of a pleasant trip to Hanover fill the writer's mind - the prospect of a few days "away from it all" with Bettie for company and to insure that my mind concentrates on Class matters. What could make this job more rewarding? Now to report that which you have been doing.

Leo Caproni has been named director of the hotel division of WM Capital and Management Corp., a leading operator of real estate properties throughout the United States, with headquarters in New York City. The company owns and operates nine hotels in this country including the Governor Clinton and Town House in New York. Leo has held management positions with other hotel operators and Pan American World Airways.

The entire 25th Reunion Committee will meet in Hanover June 18 of this year to observe '4l operations and report on their own progress to date. Reverend James Curtis, chairman of our 25th Reunion Memorial program, has announced that Nancy Rogers Smith, daughter of Bob Smith, will serve as organist during the memorial program.

To Jim Erwin, we wish success as he runs for nomination for governor in the Maine primary election this month.

Robert Rodgers has been appointed director of public relations for the Founders Society Detroit Institute of Arts. Bob is an 18 year veteran of television and has resigned from the Storer Broadcasting Co., in New York City to assume his new duties. He served with the 99th Infantry Division in Europe and as a civilian headed the Stars and Stripes bureau in Frankfurt until 1948. He was with NBC for ten years as a publicity writer and New York manager of NBC films. One of Bob's first assignments will focus on the dedication of a new south wing complex in June. He will be responsible for publicity of the institute's activities and efforts to expand membership rolls of the community arts organization. He and Ruth, a former personnel manager of J. Walter Thompson Co. and Revlon in New York, will live at the Garden Apartments, 2900 E. Jefferson Street.

Donald E. Meads, president of International Basic Economy Corp., has been elected to the board of Super-Valu Stores, Inc., Hopkins, Minn.

At Dartmouth's Armed Forces Day ceremonies last month two sons of classmates came off with top honors. Richard A. Godfrey Jr. '66 received the U.S. Naval Institute award for the outstanding contract midshipman first class.

Cadet Edward P. Stafford Jr. '65 received the N.H. Department of the Reserve Officers Association medal for outstanding achievement and leadership at the 1965 ROTC summer camp. Ed's son is the commanding officer of the Army ROTC brigade at Dartmouth.

While noting outstanding achievements of sons, Neil Barber's son Pete is the ace of this spring's Indian pitching staff. His current record is 5-1 and he has accounted for four Ivy League victories at this writing.

Your roving correspondent has observed in Hanover, busily engaged in attacking class organizational problems, these hardworking executive types (and powers behind their thrones): Mary and Bob Kirk, Kiki and Ad Winship (congenial hosts and guides), Guy Swenson, Dick Lippman, Warren Kreter (appearing relaxed for a change), Bettie and George Hinkley. The college and the town have every appearance of continued strength and development.

It is most pleasant to announce the appointment of Ad Winship to the office of Director of Development of the College, succeeding George Colton '35 who has been named a vice president of the College. This is indeed a merited recognition of achievement and potential for future service to Dartmouth. In the challenging new position we wish Ad continued success, confident in his ability to deliver in this key administrative post.

Our wishes for an enjoyable and relaxing summer are extended to you.
