Hope all had as fine a summer as the forty 66's or so who were enjoying the first months of marriage. The number of class nuptials has climbed over 100, and at this rate I'll be the only bachelor by 1973.
Back on May 29 Wally Hodges married Linda Kay Daro-Dawidowicz in New York City; Wally is at the University of Michigan Medical School and Linda will be a junior at UM. June was a big marital month for the class, and Rick Offenbach started things off by marrying Bonnie Arlene Maries in Collingswood, N. J., on the second, with Phil Luepanto holding the ring. Botn attend Rutgers, KICK, going 10 the Business School and Bonnie the College of Nursing.
A double ring ceremony in Mount Holyoke College's Abbey Chapel on June 3 was the selling tor Robert Hughes' marriage to Margaret Ellen White, who graduated from Mount Horyoke the following day. Ushers included Hans Kritchels and Arthur Chicadcris. Bob is an English teacher and head ski coach at Kents Hill School in Maine.
Here's a testimony to the machine age. Ken Bernstein nad a computer-arranged date with Jill luchman of Smith last October. On June 11 they were married, and are now at the university of Indiana where Ken is studying toward a doctorate in generics and Jill is at the Graduate Department of Economics.
lien Cohen, at Rutgers Law, and Jean Lynn Oppenheimer, a skidmore graduate teaching in Moniclair, N. J., were married on June 11. Louis Novak, Andy Alan Kanter, and Bruce Berger all ushered for DICK firrel when he married Judman Hope lay lor, an Upsala College graduate, in June. Dicks studying tor a Ph.D. at Cal Tech. Mark Budnitz, in his second year at Harvard Law, joined torces with Paula Louise Robbuns in a double-ring ceremony in Longmeadow, Mass., in June, raula graduated from Pembroke and is attending BU School of Social Work.
Late June was the "in" time to be married, and nearly a dozen men went to the altar. Tom Clarke scored on the 17th, marrying Green Mountain grad Gretchen Van Emburgh before a good percentage of the class, lull Gibson was best man, and ChuckVernon, Budge Geer, Jim Pool, Tim Paige,Dick Larson and Gene Nattie were ushers. A week later the Clarkes attended Gib by's wedding to Rebecca Gould in Greenville, S. C.
Those Dartmouth men not in Ridgewood might have been in Wellesley, Mass., where George Vincent was marrying Andrea Lee Sawtelle with Jeff Marks, Mike McConnell, and Bruce Hamilton ushering. Perhaps you were at East Islip, L. I., watching as did usher Dave Pottnoff the marriage of SteveZegel and Maureen Mannix. Steve's now at St. Louis University School of Social Service.
On the same 17th in Darien, Conn., JimHazard exchanged vows with Georgia Ellen Fowler, the witnesses including ushers JohnErkklia and John Pearson. Jim's at Hastings Law School in San Francisco. On the big day Steve Warnover and Anne V. Tate were married in Rochester, N. Y., and are living in Chicago where Steve is studying at Northwestern business School.
Bill Dowling, a graduate English student at Harvard, and Linda Jean Crabill, Wellesley '66 and an English master's candidate at Brown, were married in Old Greenwich, Conn., on the 17th, with classmates JonWiesel and Jon Lawrence in attendance. Alien Anderson ushered at Ens. Alan Keiller's mariiage to Joanne Misuraca. Alan, an Amos Tuck grad, is studying at the Nuclear Power Scnool in California.
Ens. Greg Eden is not yet a lieutenant, but he is married to pert Donna Zink, Smith '67, and he's stationed at Pensacola participating in carrier qualification training. He chose the 17th, as did Geoff Greenleat, who married Helen Boyko, a Kent State (Ohio) graduate in Parma, Ohio. Parker Smith was an usher. Geoff has returned to Stanford Business School after a summer with Pillsbury.
John Lewis, at Fordham Law School, selected the 18th to marry Diana Reed Price in Briarcliff, N. Y. Bob Fritz was best man.
June 24 saw David Freeman marry Yvonne Suzanne Jason in Taft, Calif. Both received M.A.'s from Stanford and will teach in the San Francisco area. SteveAbram and Pamela Jean Cutler were married in Milwaukee on June 24. Pam graduated from Smith, teaches in Haverford, Pa.; Steve's at Jefferson Medical College.
Bruce Drake and Bob Serenbetz ushered at Bob Spence's wedding to Linda Louise Lohman in Saratoga, Calif., near Stanford, where Bob is at the Business School, Linda graduated from Wellesley. John Hall, a June graduate of West Point, took his bride of June 24, Emily Louise Moulton, to his first duty station, Fort Richardson, Alaska.
Also on the 24th, Gerry LaMoirtagne, after graduation from Tuck School, married Susan Marie Wanat in New Britain, Conn. George Trumbull, Roc Caivano and BillDuval ushered.
Dan Barnard, an electrical manufacturer's representative, married Cynthia Pond, a Colby Junior graduate on July 1 in Mt. Carmel, Conn. Bill Risso and Pete Titcomb ushered. Lt. John White and Cynthia Everett (Mt. Holyoke '66) chose New London, N. H., as the site and July 15th as the date for their marriage. They will be stationed in Clarkesville, Tenn.
Also on the 15th in Lyndonville, Vt., Brian Beattie and Harriet Hall were married. With brother Dave Beattie '65 as best man, and ushers Charlie Horn and MikeRansmeier ushering. Brian is in his second year at Dartmouth Med School and Harriet is working at Mary Hitchcock Hospital.
Paul White and Pamela Hyde exchanged vows in July, as did Albie Mac Donald, a B.U. Law student and Jane Hess, a Goucher grad, in a big Winchester ceremony.
Alan Leach and David Robbins witnessed the wedding of Bob Stewart and Suzanne Ilene Wilson, another Colby Junior alumna on August 5 in Princeton. Bob is working for a Master's from the University of Connecticut. Dave Barton and Jane Griffith Couser, a sister of Dave's fraternity brother Tom, were married at Phillips Academy, Andover where Dave will be a member of the language faculty.
University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Architecture student Bruce Vogel and Jean Emslie were married on August 5 in Scituate, Mass. Dick Duffe was best man; Dick Robson was an usher. Dan Zehner, a B.U. Law student, and Joan Campbell, daughter of John B. Campbell '45, were married on August 26 with classmate BobCowden in attendance.
Other August marriages include that of Harvard Med students David Osborne and Barbara Mallinckrodt, and Parker Davies to Margret Carde, a graduate of Wellesley.
