This is the time of year when the doldrums set in especially where news is concerned and to paraphrase what appeared in Doug Burch's newsletter, it is amazing that 648 college-educated males, most of whom have wives, are not literate enough to supply their classmates with news of their lives from twenty years before.

Enough of the griping! Les Corelitz of New City, N. Y., has just dropped us a joyous letter containing what should be the greatest news ever. Les and his wife, Lenny, were almost as excited as their son, Dick, when they received news that Dick would be a member of the class of '71 which makes Les a Dartmouth father plus an alumnus. We know for certain that Dick is not the first son to go to Dartmouth, but, unfortunately, we did not think to keep track of the other proud fathers in the class. We would like to hear from them so that we might even set up a special raffle at the forthcoming "20th with Tribe." Les went on to say that his other children, Judy 15, and Jeff 14, will join the whole family in Hanover in June.

Ralph Roth, who has been general manager of the Grand Forks Herald for several years, has been promoted to the newly created post of associate publisher. He will continue to handle the duties of general manager on the paper he joined in 1959. Ralph worked previously as assistant production manager of the St. Paul Dispatch and Pioneer Press, and with the Mergenthaler Linotype Company. He's a member of the board of directors of the Grand Forks Herald, Inc., and the Herald Building Co. and vice president of both corporations.

Our high politico, Walt Peterson, Speaker of the House of New Hampshire, was recently elected to the Board of Trustees of New Hampton School in New Hampton, N. H. One of the interesting factors is that the President of the New Hampshire Senate, Mr. Lamprey, has a son going to the school.

Just received a note that Russ Pfaff has moved from Glen Cove, L. I., N. Y., to Palos Verdes Estates, Calif. Russ will be sales manager of the West Coast Division of the Mobile Oil Corporation. He has been with the company through successful promotions since he graduated from Tuck School in 1948. We would really appreciate hearing from Russ, Flo and the children.
