The annual Christmas cocktail party was an absolute smash, thanks to Bob Halbert'59 and his band of merry men. We even had a combo for the more athletically inclined. As expected, we saw many alums whom we hadn't seen since the last Christmas party, notably John Nelson '41, BobCohen '47, Phil Johnson '49, Bob Hackstaff'51, Neil Roberts '35, Lucky Shore '56 and, of course, Martin "Goose" Brusse '46.

Jim Hoeven '54 and I even decided that he and I were fraternity brothers and that he used to room with someone back at the Big Green, the name of whom neither of us could remember. Parties are wonderful and there is a movement afoot to arrange for more of them.

Notable by their absence were Ed Hunter'55 and Ev Parker '16. Setting some sort of an attendance record was the beautiful wife of Harry T. (Buster) Lewis '55. This was Tanya's 16th consecutive party.

Hart Gilchrist '31 married off his daughter Janet last month to a non-Dartmouth man. His interview with the grievance committee is pending.

The enrollment work is in high gear. TomFead's '56 interviewers are finding themselves even busier than last year. The Christmas luncheon was another feather in our cap. Gobs of candidates for admission turned out to be impressed by our returning undergraduates who were the honored guests. One undergraduate from each class spoke about his Dartmouth impressions, likes, dislikes, and the snake in the Zeta Psi House.

Santa Barbara Club members and their wives gathered for the annual fall meeting atthe Montecito Country Club. Seated at the head table are (l to r) Ken Riley '49, DickGilman '45, President of Occidental College and the guest speaker, club presidentFred Long '11, and president elect Leslie McFadden '26.
