As winter digs in '66's in sunnier climes, thinking back on what winter was like for four years, do a little bragging. WarrenRiley, sends along word from Stanford Business School that a Princeton contingent nipped a Hanover eleven 10-8 last October, and after seeing the squad picture accompanying this column, we can see why.

From Berkeley Nelson Lichtenstein, a history graduate student, reports that "it's a fine place and between demonstrations I go to classes." Nelson has landed a parttime teaching course for the spring term at Golden Gate College in San Francisco.

Peter Van Den Steenhoven, Ken Berger, and Pete Griffin, all Bay Area graduate students, met Bill Koelsch, visiting from TRW Systems in Houston, for some New Year's skiing. Pete then returned to the beach and found Bob Miller, who insists "It's not like this in Chester, Pa."

Pete Cleaves is another who went south. After spending the summer and fall as an interpreter for the State Department guiding Congolese and French students on crosscountry tours, Pete left in December for a year in Chile on his Dartmouth General Fellowship, stopping in Acapulco en route.

Also in Chile is Chuck Benson, on a Peace Corps assignment in Valparaiso assisting in a reforestation program. Chuck received an absentee Massachusetts ballot marked "war ballot" and objected, telling officials that it was both poor public relations and unfair to send Peace Corpsmen the same ballot as military men. Result-the words "War Ballot" will be deleted in the future.

Bill Wilson is also on his way to South America following a training period at the University of Wisconsin for the Peace Corps. He will be teaching English in Brazil.

On New Year's Eve Caleb Loring and Bronwyn Evans, a graduate of Wheaton College, were married in Wakefield, Mass., and honeymooned at Montego Bay, Jamaica. David Loring '6B was best man, and DonGraves, Bob Cleary, and Dave Nicholas were ushers. Dave recently graduated from port, R. I., and is now a member of an Underwater Demolition Team.

Bill Ferris married Ann-Marie Gleason on December 26 in Maiden, Mass. Bill is teaching at Longmeadow High School, his alma mater, and Ann-Marie is a senior at Simmons College.

Ens. Tim Jones and Smith graduate Helen Brightell Taft were married in Brookside, N. H., on December 28. Win Steubner, BobWilson, John Peterson, John Lonergan, and Kevin Trainer ushered. Tim and Helen are now in Brunswick, Ga., where Tim is stationed.

Ens. Bill Laino and Ellen Grupp, a student at Nassau Community College, were married on December 13 in Mineola, L. I., and are now living in Long Beach, Calif., where Bill is stationed aboard the "U.S.S. Yorktown."

Engagements are also making news. Lt. Paul Buffum, stationed at Fort Benning, Ga., and Elisabeth Bevan Reyelt, Skidmore '66, now attending Tufts School of Occupational Therapy.... Wally Hodges, a first year student at the University of Michigan Med School and Linda Dawidowicz a student at Chatham College in Pittsburgh. ... Al Ryan, teaching in New Orleans, and Sarah Keating Madden, Jackson '66 and a research fellow at the University of Minnesota. ... Jim Hazard, attending Hastings Law School of the University of California in San Francisco, and Georgia Ellen Fowler, a graduate of Webber College, Babson Park, Fla.... Jack Garamella, at Northwestern Law School, and Judith Ann Nelson, Pembroke '66 and, a master of arts in teaching candidate at Northwestern.

Lt. Jim Weiskopf, always a good manager, thinks he has managed to be the first '66 to make it, in uniform, to Vietnam. With the 25th Infantry Division at Cu Chi, Jim is administrative officer for a Civil Affairs Platoon, a six-man unit that works to insure proper relations between the military and civilian population. He arrived on

November 8, and thus far, his claim is undisputed. School of Advanced International Studies in Washington, and Pete Broad and RockLey are both doing graduate work at Johns Hopkins in Baltimore.... Larry Goss is using an NDEA Fellowship to study geography at the University of Washington in Seattle. ... Tom Crawford is in the first of four years at the School of Dentistry of the University of California's San Francisco Medical Center.... Jeff Futter is at Southern Methodist University Law School.... DougBailey is working with the Research Division of Project Planning Associates in Toronto, Canada.
