One sure sign that our colorful autumn is returning is to receive those gentle reminders that once again the presses are eager to get rolling and send the ALUMNI MAGAZINE throughout the Dartmouth world.

Our own little corner of the Dartmouth world will be gathering November 2 in New Haven prior to the big game with what's its name. Class chairman Dick Hofman has made arrangements for a special parking area for all '62's at the Yale baseball field. Plans are for the festivities to begin around 11:30 a.m. on the 2nd. Entrance to this parking area will be by ticket only. Tickets run a dollar per car and can be obtained by sending that buck plus a self-addressed stamped envelope to Richard D. Hofman, 716 Glendalough Road, Erdenheim, Pa. 19118. Dick will return a ticket and a map. Looks like a perfect set-up for an in-between reunion. In the meantime start working the rust out of the elbow.

Letters were a bit scarce this summer, but lots of announcements arrived promoting the abilities of our classmates. The local papers report that Dick Dillon from nearby Exeter received his Ph.D. in psychology from the University of Virginia in June. Prior to this Dick added a master's from the University of Florida. Dick and Ellen, with the children, Mark and Amy, reside in McLean, Va., while Dick toils for Bio-Technology Corp. in Falls Church, Va.

Another '62 barrister (there appear to be quite a few of us) is John Ryder who gathered in his law degree from Suffolk University in Boston. Mahlon Apgar was awarded a master's from Harvard's graduate school of business and is now a research associate to the Harvard Business School and the university program on technology and society. Mahlon had previously studied at Magdalen College, Oxford University and worked on the Columbia City project for the Rouse Co. in Baltimore. Also receiving his master's was Dave Singleton who was presented his degree in government at Washington University.

Marty Quadland survived his two years of filling teeth for the Army and will continue his training in the dental field at Cornell Medical Center in New York. Marty and Pat have added daughters Kara and Kristen to the Crest family and are living in the New York area while Marty begins a three-year residency in oral and Maxillofacial surgery at Cornell.

Down in Massachusetts, the State Jaycees organization elected Pete Norstrand as state chairman of the Jaycees Law Enforcement Project. Pete says that the "Jaycees have adopted a get tough program to strike at organized crime in Mass." That should keep him well occupied. Pete is presently on the staff of Attorney General Elliot Richardson, and is responsible for some top law enforcement measures, including the Stop and Frisk Law and the Fresh Pursuit Law.

It seems that others are benefitting from fresh pursuit as the wedding announcements keep coming in. There just can't be too many free spirits left. Young Dr. DickRhodes stepped down the aisle with Elizabeth Moorhouse from Rochester, N. Y. Miss Janet Salek of New York had the right answer and was married to Dave Dickson, August 7 at the Plaza Hotel in N.Y.C. The new Mrs. Dickson is a lecturer and school museum coordinator with the N.Y.C. Board of Education. Dave recently graduated from the Yale University School of Art and Architecture.

A double wedding in Worcester, Mass., headed up the June wedding picture there. One of those present was Erwin Henry Miller who exchanged vows with the former Miss Margery Hayes while Margery's sister, Susan was wed at the same ceremony. The new groom grabbed off his law degree from Yale and is presently practicing in Worcester.

Bruce Jackson made that trip last June also and on the 13 th, the former Gayle Pendleton White became Mrs. Lothrop B. Jackson II. Bruce is a journalist on the staff of the St. Louis Post Dispatch where he landed after receiving his M.A. degree from Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies in Bologna, Italy. The bride is working on her Ph.D. in political science at Washington University in St. Louis.

A bouquet of roses is in order for Miss Candida Marcia Fee who managed to talk Carl Funke into matrimony and this autumn as the leaves fall, so will Carl. The bride-to-be is after her master's degree at California State College in Long Beach and Carl is an executive with the Celanese Corp. in California.

With the primary over and the Red Sox back to normal, it's been a rather subdued summer. How about some news to help me out. See you on November 2.
