Our sympathy goes to Fred Chase in the death of his brother Steve '97. Stephen Chase had been one of the oldest living alumni.
Our Class is blest with a goodly number of devoted, loyal "class widows." In response to the cards which those of us at the reunion sent to those who couldn't attend I have before me two notes of appreciation sent to C.C. Hills, reunion chairman. From Minneapolis, Katharine Vaughan writes: "How very pleasant it was to have the greetings from the '05 Class! It has been many years since I have visited Hanover, and one of these days I hope to do so again." (We hope you will!) Elizabeth Wallis, likewise, writes her thanks to the 'OS reuners for the card she had received: "It gave me great pleasure." She adds that at that time she had been visiting Lou's two sons and the grandchildren in Los Alamos and Albuquerque. Her present address, changed from Brookline, Mass., is 26½ Concord St., Peterborough, N. H. There she is doing social work at Crotched Mountain Rehabilitation Center. She sends her "very best wishes" to the members of 1905.
S.B. Cunningham keeps in touch with every member of '05 not only by his interesting '05 Reporter, but also by cards of various types, such as birthdays, Christmas, etc. Here is a typical response to S.B. from "Cy"and Hilda White: "How thoughtful you are, remembering our anniversary as well as Ernest's birthday." They add: "Now that our four grandchildren are away at school or college we have more outside interests."
