Tireless 82-year-young pianist Artur Rubenstein proved the musical treat of the decade on the evening of February 29 at the Stanley Theater in Utica, N. Y., and held an audience of 3000 spellbound. He showed without fanfare, without tricks, why he is in a class by himself, truly the world's greatest pianist. His performance climaxed Great Artists 35th series according to RolandChesley, general manager of the Great Artists series of Utica.
Roland Chesley, known to his classmates as "Pop," is recognized as dean of the world's concert managers and at 86, he is the oldest active impresario. He has brought over 300 top musical attractions to Utica.
