Reunion plans get into high gear as your class executive committee met in Hanover in October, and various mini reunions give us a warm-up. Remember the reunion dates, June 19-21.

Sbme of our classmates have had recent exciting events which will provide dates they will never forget. Joe McHugh and family were joined by a new daughter, Amanda, on May 28. Joe is with the Dallas brokerage firm of Eppler, Guerin and Turner. Wall Street brokerage houses have been busy taking orders for stock in Computer Response Corp. This is the Washington, D. C., firm in which Hank Greer is a principal. They went public in September. Reed Browning has been promoted to associate professor in the department of English at Kenyon College. As Gene Kohn mentioned in the newsletter, Pete Holland is now varsity crew coach at M.I.T. Pete received the degree of Master of Arts in Liberal Studies at Wesleyan's Graduate Summer School for Teachers. Pete and Marge are living on Virginia Road in Lincoln, Mass. The new special assistant to Charles A. Meyer, Assistant Secretary for Inter-American Affairs, is JohnYoule. John and Ines have three youngsters and live in Fairfax, Va. Ed Johanson reports that he is the proud father of a son, Erik. "The mother is fine, the baby is thriving, and now, that we have gotten past the two o'clock feeding, I think I'll pull through myself."

Shortly after we found out about BradLund's transfer to the National Customs Training Center on Long Island, it was announced that he would be assigned to a systems analysis training program conducted bv American University in Hempstead, N. Y.

Last month we mentioned Brooks Wrightnour's wedding but had no news of the bride who turns out to be Janet Conathan, Skidmore '67. Janet is from Duxbury, Mass. A spring engagement announcement told of wedding plans for Quentin Faulkner and Marcia Johnson for September. DonaldSmith who is an applications programmer with Philip Hankins, Inc., a computer consulting concern in Arlington, Mass., was married in July to Sybil Smith.

John Mitchell has been promoted to coordinator of cash management at Sybron Corporation. Prior to joining Sybron he had various positions in the field of accounting including five years as senior accountant for Ernst & Ernst in N.Y.C. You might check with John about this, but I believe the pending changes in the I.R.S. Code include a new attitude toward giving appreciated securities to charity. If you give appreciated stock to the 1970 Dartmouth Alumni Fund before the end of 1969, you will get the full deduction of the present value of the stock. The new bill lets you take only your original cost as a deduction.

The National Association of Broadcasters has named John Dimlimg as vice president for research. John will be at the N.A.B. headquarters in Washington, D. C. He was manager of the communications and systems division of Spindleton Research.

Mickey Straus is now vice president and director of research of one of the nation's largest investment organizations, the Inter Capital group of companies in New York City. In his new post he will be responsible for expanding investment research and information resources used in managing individual, institutional, and corporate investment portfolios. Before joining Inter Capital, he was a vice president of McDonnell & Co. and earlier a securities analyst with Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette.

DO YOU REMEMBER In November 1959, Dave Segal discussed Project Awareness in the Daily D. This program dealt with "the relevance of existing national and international student issues to the college campus." Program workshops included Academic Freedom, Nuclear Weapon Testing, the Negro and higher education. .. . Lou Still well discussed Saipan in a Battle Night lecture. .. . Dave Greenstein, chairman of the Human Rights Society, talked about war too: "Communism causes no mental death and killing remains the only sin." ... On a local battlefield, Bob Messener accepted the championship trophy for Theta Delt, the intermural football champs. Reunion will give us all a chance to discuss much the same issues with ten years behind us.

Frank Killilea was married in June to Katherine Knight. They will be living in Somerville, Mass. Bob Bollingbrook is now with Clorox in Oakland, Calif. Capt. JohnPorter is now Dr. John Porter of Denison, Texas. Bruce Henry is an assistant professor of math at Syracuse and Bill Veech is with the math department at Rice U. in Houston. Dick Ossen has made a big job change. He is now with Bristol-Myers Co. in their Products Division in N.Y.C.

Finally, another engagement announcement tells of a wedding planned for September for Joe Batchelder and Deborah Chase. Joe was a member of the United States Olympic Sailing Team at Tokyo in 1964. He keeps his touch as a member of the Royal Scandinavian Yacht Club.
