Bill Rollins reminds us all this ski season that he's "still living in Aspen, doing free-lance writing and working as associate editor of Skier's Gazette." Bill extends an open invitation to "stop in at the basement of the Hotel Jerome if you're in Aspen," apparently an indication that he doesn't spend all his time on the slopes.
John Dinan reports, "I have a few months more to go in vascular surgery at Ford Hospital," in Detroit, then "we are going back to Maine to practice when I finish." But, surprisingly, John and Peggy have discovered that "Alaska is on the way to Maine," and "about the first of August we are driving to Maine via Alaska." He warns all friends and acquaintances to "keep the latch string out... we are coming to see you." Then, he adds, "we expect you in return for either the spring fishing, summer lobstering, fall partridge hunting, or winter skiing. Don't come between seasons, that is work week."
Bob Bennett is "moving up to better quarters, at home and work. Bought a home in Cupertino (Calif.). Also have new position at T. J. Lipton (the tea people) as assistant manager, regional distribution with offices at San Mateo, Calif." Bob took a winter vacation in Florida but found the trip "uneventful ... didn't even get a free stop in Havana."
Another step up for Nelson Jones at the Connecticut General Life Insurance Company. He has been appointed manager at the Springfield, Mass., branch office of the company. He joined Connecticut General's Hartford branch in 1955, where he served as a staff assistant and assistant manager until 1964, when he went to the Oakland, Calif., office as manager. He and wife Trix and Russell, Scott, and Eric have a new home in Wilbraham, Mass.
A visit by your correspondent to Washington for the inaugural festivities found Lieutenant Commander John Leaver, wearing the badge of a temporary naval aide to a governor, struggling through the crowd at the massive Governors' Reception, numerous drinks occupying both hands, able only to mutter the single cryptic word "Massachusetts" as he continued purposefully on his way to a booth on the far side of the huge hall.
Gerry and Susie Levy welcomed their third daughter, Wendy Elizabeth, on October 7. The Levys live in North Dartmouth, Mass., obviously indicating great loyalty to alma mater, but Gerry says "Dartmouth had better go co-ed or we may never send her a student, only a potential bevy of Carnival dates."
Roy and Nancy Nyren, who already have a nine-year-old girl and a seven-year-old boy, adopted a five-year-old son, Kevin, in February. Roy says, "We suggest this to our classmates as a way to face up to the population explosion," apparently meaning, it's a good way to get with the human race, painlessly. Roy is minister of Milwaukee's Faith Church, a member of the United Church of Christ.
Another of the cloth, Joe Herring, moved from Towaco, N. J., to become rector of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, in Millburn, N. J. Joe graduated from General Theological Seminary in New York City and now is a candidate for the S.T.M. degree from General. He's secretary of the board of examining chaplains of the Newark diocese and is an examiner in ethics.
Alex Clark was elected a vice president of Kidder, Peabody and Co., Inc., in New York. He's in the firm's research department, concentrating on insurance, real estate, and conglomerate stocks. Alex commutes from Bronxville.
Gerry Kleinman became a partner in the law firm of Loeb and Loeb in Los Angeles. Bob Garver was elected a corporator of the Charlestown Savings Bank, in Boston; he's also a vice president.
Ward Rowley moved from South Orange to Maplewood, N. J. He's now with W. R. Grace & Co. in New York. Dr. Phil Mossman shifted from Beverly, Mass., to Minneapolis.
Ray Woolson was promoted to senior vice president at South End Bank and Trust Co. in Hartford. He joined the bank in 1964 and became a vice president in 1966. Ray is treasurer of the One Hundred Club of Connecticut and the American Friendship Committee for South Vietnam, and is a director of Optimum Franchise Corp.
Dana Hennigar was an instructor at a four-day hockey clinic for boys in Wake-field, Mass. The other instructors included a former Olympic goalie and the Merrimack College coach.
