The sixty-six military contingent is back in the news, marching squarely behind Captain James Weiskopf. It seems after tours with the 2nd Civil Affairs Company at Fort Gordon, Ga., and the 25th Infantry Division in Vietnam, Jim has been assigned tour director of the United States Army Field Band of Washington, D. C.
Our congratulations go to Jim for his brilliant service in combat and the ribbons that attest to his achievements - The Bronze Star, Air Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Purple Heart, and Republic of Viet Nam Honor Medal-lst Class. Now he's responsible for arranging concert bookings for the official touring musical representative of the Department of the Army, which travels widely at home and abroad.
Lt. Fred Robbe and Sally Brooks Burroughs were married on January 4 in Augusta, Ga. Fred is stationed at Fort Gordon and Sally graduated from Georgia College in Statesboro, Ga.
Lt. Dave Owens has an announcement, in fact two, and his wife Linda merits at least equal billing. From the Owens' home in Frankfurt, Germany, comes word about Adrian and Jonathan, twins born on Sept. 8.
Other classmates in service include Lt. Gregory Ball, an Army protocol officer; Lt. Gary Broughton, a Navy j.g.; Ens. KirkDitzler is a Navy pilot; Jack Stebe is an Air Force flyboy; and Lt. Kevin Trainor is a Marine Airborne ECM operator.
Joe Michalski is a third-year student at the University of Maryland in Baltimore, and last August he added an able assistant to his family, Kathleen Erdmann, a senior in the nursing degree program at the University hospital.
Three engagements were announced in December. Ricky Reiss late of Harrison, N. Y., and presently a third year law student at New York University and an associate in the investment banking firm of Carter, Berlind and Weill, and fellow law school student Bonnie Feldman, a prize winning graduate of NYU, University College, plan a July marriage.
Former Storm King hockey standout JohnPearson has scored again with his engagement to Glenn Maureen Fiddes. John is completing degree work at Tuck School and Maureen is an elementary school teacher.
Professionalism is the word in the soon-to-be Kerry Citrin household. Kerry, a third year student at Hahnemann Medical College in Philadelphia, is joining forces with Jose-phine Hannah Lazarowics, a Temple University grad now at that institution's School of Law.
Chuck Sherman is at the University of North Carolina working for a master's degree in psychometrics. . . . Jack Donovan has just returned from a two-year Peace Corps hitch in Micronesia serving as an English teacher and community developer. He's back in Concord, Mass., but call, don't write. Jack will be off again to work on the refugee program of AID in South Vietnam.
In the Peace Corps is Martin Adler, serving in the Dominican Republic. . . . Glenn Gavin is a graduate student in Romance Languages at Harvard University, and I sat behind him in French 1.... DaveStout is a teacher at the Alaska Rural School of the University of Alaska. That's at College, Alaska, quite appropriately ... and Doug Rosenberg is a history teacher at Day Prospect Hill School in New Haven.
