April 9: '27 dinner in New York honoring the Class Secretary Emeritus (?) DoaneArnold will have an extra added attraction. Hank Murray - film impresario, author, traveller, historian, will show some of the pictures he is proudest of - and explain how to make money by travelling. Big delegation expected of '27ers from Boston area, and a big night for '27 is expected. Hope you will have been there.

Woody Burgert tells us that his annual trip to his second love, Florence, Italy "where we planned to spend a part of each year, was postponed perforce by the unexpected - and unwelcome coronary occlusion last autumn. However, I am convincingly convalescent and confident that I shall be fully recovered in the foreseeable future." Woody, all of us wish you speedy and full recovery to your full schedule. (As I note those '27ers who have had such attacks, it seems that we have been blessed by many, many full recoveries, a tribute to the healthy life the class led in its youth. Let's hope this recovery average continues to hold up.)

Cam Clokey - "Sara and I enjoyed seven months browsing through Europe. We followed the sun from Mediterranean countries to Norway, Sweden, and Denmark. Hibernating in Cleveland this winter. Had dinner with Hale Hams and Chuck Bakers at Prexy's party. They looked swell."

Carl Lindenmeyr sends a report on a recent big project of his with his firm, Engineers Incorporated. I am forwarding it to Bill North as grist for the next Speak.

George Provost - "We sold my company so as of 12/31/68, became semi-retired. Address, 903 Notre Dame Place, Pittsburgh 15215. With four children, nine grandchildren all in vicinity, life remains active, interesting, exciting. No time to worry over birthdays."

Dime Benson says, "Only one more year to medicare now. I put on skis to celebrate." Doc Fritz Kortlucke has located full time, I judge, at Indian Hill, New Preston, Conn. Sid Voice, "Guess who operated on my you know what in which hospital? Spent my birthday in N. Y. Hospital where JackDraper had given me a TURP (?) two days before. Adam Jonathon Voice, the first grandson, arrived early January to Mona and John Voice — to add to two grand girls of Dr. Alan and Susan Ward of Woburn, Mass. Consolidated Litho Corp. is now Consolidated Educ. Publ. Inc."

Congratulations to Marty Knorr who belatedly informs us he was elected N. Y. State Senator last November from Queens County. Is he the only practicing politico in the class?

Additional retirement note - BrownieFreeman — "I admit to retirement - keep busy with paddle tennis and curling during the winter and work at golf during the summer. Have a spot in North Pomfret, Vt., 18 miles from Hanover." Fred Auer - "Being one of the youngest members of '27, I am late in entering the grandparents' derby, many had an early start. My first is Joanna Walsh, August 25, '67 — daughter of our daughter Suzanne." Jay Willing - "Maria and I are looking forward to a European trip the last of April, God Willing - what a pun." You said it, Jay - have fun.

A handsome colored picture attests to the visit of Olivia - Diane and LowellWormley with Bruce and Phyrne McKennan in California.

Back next month with a report on '27's fantastic festival in fun city on April 9. Hope it's all about you.
