By the time you read this, we will have returned from the Reunion. All the news will be old hat. But for you unlucky ones who are unable to attend, here's a little current news. The reunion report will appear next month.

John Englehorn has been elected president of the Zinc Institute. John is vice president of Marketing and Development of the St. Joseph Lead Company where he's also a member of the company's board of trustees.

There will be some distinguished speakers at the Reunion. In these times of crisis, Professor Francis Gramlich will moderate a discussion, "Is There a New Ethic?" The panelists will include two members of the faculty and two distinguished members of our class, Clark MacGregor, Congressman from Minnesota and Bill Turpin, long-time foreign service officer. With what's been happening in Hanover recently, they should have a lively discussion.

Robert "Needle" Allen has been elected a trustee of the Bronx Savings Bank. He is senior vice-president of the Paribus Corporation in New York. He joined Paribus in 1961 after a career with various investment firms in the city including six years with Briggs, Schaedle & Co., Inc., five years with Aubrey G. Lanston & Co., Inc., and four years with Alex Brown & Sons. He and his wife Jean and five children live at 111 Schraalenburgh Road in Haworth, N. J.

I had a sad letter from Dave Brown in which he advised that his eldest daughter Janet was killed in a mid-air collision of two private planes over Farmingdale, Long Island. Janet was 22. There were four persons aboard each plane and no survivors. Dave and his family will be at the Reunion.

Phil Penberthy has always done an outstanding job as head agent in the alumni fund job, but he's not only outdoing himself, but what anyone else expected in this year's campaign. At May 1, he had 27 more donors than at the same time last year. And he had brought in an excess of $17,000 more than at this time last year.

Fred Heidner is now down in Houston with the Humble Oil & Refining Company. George Troxell is making his home in New Orleans. And Jack Maguire whom we hope to see at the Reunion is now living down in Palm Beach, Fla.

I hope you guys are keeping your eyes on Emery Industry's stock. Every time President Don Hinkley reports on earnings, it's a substantial gain over the previous period. The company has really been on the move since he took over the reins.

Early returns on registration for the Reunion would seem Johnny Morse's original estimates (which everybody thought were overly optimistic) are now actually conservative.

Will have a big report for you next month.
