Treasurer Bill Duggan's annual request for money provides a non-financial benefit for me, as many of you take the opportunity to send along news of your activities with the dues. So I'd like to put in a plug for Bill and ask that you respond promptly to his appeal and take an extra minute to supply news about yourself.

As reported in an earlier column, RennieSpaulding- has moved to Los Angeles where he is general manager of a newly created, wholly-owned subsidiary of First National City Bank of New York. He didn't indicate what his duties involve but if anyone is in the vicinity of 640 West Sixth Street, drop in and say hello. I hope all goes well what with the student demonstrations against the establishment which the Bank of America seems to represent.

Dr. Bill Gentry finished residency training in dermatology and as of July 1 became assistant director of medicine and head of the division of dermatology at Denver General Hospital. Somehow Bill finds the time to teach at the University of Denver where he is an assistant professor of medicine. The Gentry's third son, Eric Andrew, was born last June, joining Scott, 5, and Christopher 3. Congratulations, Bill! Another medicine man, Dr. George LeFevre expects to finish his residency in orthopedic surgery at the University of California and plans to enter private practice in San Diego next June. George reports that he sees Mike Tig-he passing through town occasionally during business junkets from Chicago.

Back on the East coast, Professor of Anthropology Cliff Lamberg-Karlovsky was guest speaker at a Melrose (Mass.) Rotary Club meeting last spring, on the topic of "Persian Contributions to the History of Art." Cliff has been a full professor at Harvard since 1969 and is also curator of Near Eastern Archaeology at the Peabody Museum there.

My old roomie, Steve Plank was awarded the Chartered Life Underwriter designation in October by the American College of Life Underwriters, an honor bestowed upon life insurance men who pass a series of professional examinations and who meet stringent experience and ethical requirements of the college (one of these requirements must be persistence—ever tried to say no to an insurance salesman?). Steve is a district agent for the Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Co. having joined the company after three years as a supply officer in the Navy. A member of the Million Dollar Roundtable and vice president of the Connecticut Life Underwriters Association, Steve lives in Norwichtown, Conn., where he is very active in community and civic affairs.

I'm grateful to Blair Watson '21h, for a note reporting that Don Monaco was the co-pilot on a Pan-American flight they made from San Francisco to Honolulu last August. They bumped into each other in the terminal before take-off and apparently had not seen each other since college where Don was president of the Dartmouth Flying Club and Blair was faculty advisor. Small world! Don has been with Pan-Am for two years after a six year career in the Air Force.

Our hard working Newsletter editor, Chris Cundey, has opted for greener pastures, forsaking his post at Irving Trust Co. in New York for the assistant treasurer-ship of North American Philips Corp. His commuting won't change much though, as his new office is in the same building as the former one, which could be confusing. Let me also give Chris some free advertising and ask you to return the questionnaire he sent out awhile" ago to supply him some news for subsequent editions of the Newsletter.

Here are a few quickies: Jack Daniels is a self-employed, Los Angeles attorney and "still a bachelor—and happy." Mike Hellman is with Procter & Gamble in Baltimore and is involved with the company's soap manufacturing operation there. John Capper is a natural resources planner for the Maryland Department of Natural Resources in Annapolis. Dr. Rod Snow works for Northern Laboratories, Redding, Calif., as a pathologist while John Hansen is Dean of Rinfield College, Mc Minnville, Ore. Gerry Huth is a project engineer with the Cincinnati office of Turner Construction Co.

See you all next year.
