Bruce Kokernot is doing his own thing—under the shadow of the Blue Mosque in the* Sultanahmet district of Istanbul, about as far from Tanzi's as a guy can get.

Bruce spent the last two summers as an "American ambassador" to hippies from the States who flood the port city. His mission, sponsored by American business interests in Istanbul, is to prevent his countrymen from running afoul of the strict Turkish drug laws. In his two seasons on duty only four Americans have been charged with narcotics violations.

But Bruce, who spent two years in the Peace Corps developing tourism in Turkey, believes he will move his wife and infant daughter to new challenges in Saudi Arabia or Africa. "The real freaks are missing Istanbul now," he says somewhat forlornly.

Also in Gotham Dan Wuensch is an intern at Montefiore Hospital following graduation from Yale Med ... Larry Hopperstead is at Dartmouth Med School.

Dick Saylor appears to have earned the right to one of the most exciting jobs a young lawyer can secure. He went from Michigan Law to the chambers of Supreme Court Justice Byron White in Washington as a law clerk. . . . Elsewhere Dan Williams has joined the Los Angeles Law firm of Belcher, Henziert, Biegerzahm . . . and AlanAnderson is attending Stanford Law. . . . Worcester attorney Jeff Gilbert married Bethel Wagner on August 29. They met at Penn where Bethel earned her Master's in Social Work and Jeff received his Law Degree.
