One item of news is that our chief, Charlie McGoughran, and Frances, are well settled in their Florida home in Delray. Their new address is 1140 Bauhinia Road, Delray. Laddie Meyers and Dick Watts were house guests the last weekend in February and while they were there the McGoughrans had a party with many Dartmouth people. Several '20s included were Ed andVera Curtis, Ed and Ginnie 80-wen, Johnand Catherine Brotherhood; the Guy Cogswells, the Rock Hayeses, the George Rands, the Jock Murrays of 1919, the Carlie Blunts '26, and others.

Nate and Mildred Whiteside are on their way south, coming by the way of the East Coast. While they were in Delray, Ed andGinnie Bowen had a '20 get-together with the Whitesides, Paul and Lydia Hutchinson, Ed and Vera Curtis, and Charlie and Frances McGoughran. The Whitesides' destination is Sanibel Island which is south of us on the west coast of Florida.

The Hitchcocks, Howard and Dorothy, who are now at Madeira Beach, looked up Ted and Mary Marden who were at nearby St. Petersburg Beach in a delightful spot right on the water. They really vacationed, having flown down they were without car and spent most of their time just beaching.

The Sarasota Dartmouth Club had its February meeting at the top of the Sarasota Motor Hotel. John Hennessey, Dean of Tuck School, and his attractive wife, Jean, came down from Hanover. He is a fine speaker, very easy to listen to and gave generously of the information about Hanover activities today and he acquainted us with Dr. John Kemeny, Dartmouth's new president, his background and his philosophy. The group lingered to ask many questions about today's Dartmouth, about co-education, etc.

Somewhere along the line in the February MAGAZINE a few words were omitted which changed things a bit. It was Ben Potter not Wally Schinz who, being on the Board of Directors of Augustana College, was keeping abreast of today's campus activities.

Paul Richter sent along a copy of the winter newsletter of the 1916 class of the Boston Latin School. He is very proud that his class, after 54 years is still keeping in touch and reuning. In that class other '20s besides himself are his brother Hib Richter,Buttons Hill, and Charlie Stevens.

A newsy letter from Frank Johnson's widow, Peg, gives interesting information about their son Merrill, who after getting out of U.B. Medical School, went into the Army to get it over with. He was given a three-year residency at Stanford University in hematology. From there he went to Korea returning to the University of Rochester for a year in Nuclear Medicine. At that time he became a lieutenant colonel of the Army Chief of Staff, of Radiation Biology (cancer research), at the Walter Reed Hospital in the Division of Nuclear Medicine. His research work took him to Emory University in Atlanta. The last we heard from him he was undecided whether he would stay in the Army eight more years when he could retire, or whether he would go into research on his own. Good luck to him whichever he chose to do.

Word was received from the University of Michigan that John B. Merton died on July 3, 1969 in Kensington, Ky. He was in Hanover only one year and not having heard from him in all these years his card has been in the "not interested" file. We record his death but for that reason, there will be no In Memoriam notice for him.

A short note from Bob Winters of Valley Stream, N. Y., tells that he still has his nose to the grindstone six days a week. We hope, however, that he will take time off for Reunion. Herb Marshall is another still on the job and has been for 44 years. Bill Farnham, who retired in 1969, started over again working part time with the Episcopal Diocese in Spokane and finds himself busier than ever. Don't get too busy to get to Hanover in June.

Although Charlie Mills was in Hanover last summer he plans to get back also for Reunion. Bob Mulcahy is also going to try to get back in June. Tom Davidson is looking forward to the reunion, as is Carl Newton.

Eddie Bowen is chairman of the nominating committee of which Nate Whiteside and Paul Hutchinson are also members. They will welcome any suggestions. In the interest of an orderly class meeting all nominations should be cleared with the committee. Eddie's address is 1006 Rhodes Villa Ave., Delray Beach, Fla. 33444.

The Mel Merritts will be in Florida early in April for a bit of golf. They were in Bermuda over the holiday season. Eight of his 14 condominium houses in Chestnut Hill, Mass., are sold.

The McGoughrans saw Dorothy Harvey off on a South Pacific cruise a few weeks ago at Port Everglades. Warrie and Florabel Chamberlain were on hand also. We are all aware of what a privilege it is to be around and able to attend a 50th Reunion — so for the big date let's all make the effort - it's 20's 50th. Many have asked about a post reunion. There is no organized plan for a post reunion as such but I am sure when the time comes there will be several who will want to linger longer in the area and plans can quickly be made at that time. Some have said they would like to go to Sherm Adams' recreation resort on Loon Mountain and some have suggested a good place to go after reunion would be Spaulding Inn at Mountain View in Whitefield. But first let's plan on the reunion itself — June 12, 13 and 14.
