From Auckland, New Zealand, Bill Rolph checks in: "The Rolphs continue to enjoy New Zealand. Have been here eleven years - my position, director for New Zealand, Pan American World Airways. Our oldest son, Ron, 17, is now at Hawaii Prep Academy at Kamuela, Hawaii; next son, Alan, 15, hopes to go there next year. They will be Dartmouth prospects in a few years. Margie, 11, our only girl, and David, 6, are in school in Auckland. Doubt if we'll make reunion, but you never know - we'll try. If any '45s are in this area, please contact me."
Art Carey was the subject of a newspaper article, several months ago, commenting on his activities as a high school teacher in Ipswich, Mass. Art has taught American history there for the past five years, coaches lacrosse, which he introduced as a high school sport four years ago, and also serves as assistant football coach. The Careys live in Marblehead and have three children ranging from a college freshman to a seventh grader. While on the subject of Marblehead, Irv Graves is the co-chairman of the Marblehead to Halifax yacht race.
Another deanship falls to 45 as Dr.Fletcher McDowell adds the duties of Associate Dean of Cornell University Medical College to his responsibilities as Professor of Neurology at the Medical College. In his new position he will function as the executive member of the Dean's staff and will be responsible for all general administra- tive matters including final approval of grants and contracts. In addition he serves as attending physician at the New YorK Hospital. Classmate Fred Plum is also professor of neurology at the same school, which gives '45 the interesting distinction of providing two professors in the same department.
ken Nicholson is the new Potentate of Melha Temple of the Shriners, comprising western Massachusetts. One of Ken's responsibilities will be that of leading the parade at the Shriners' Maple Sugar Bowl football game in Hanover in

In Utica, N. Y., Gib Jones, president of Utica Duxbak Corp., has been elected to the board of directors of the First Federal Savings and Loan Association. Gib's other activities include vice-president of the Utica Rotary Club, boards of directors at both the Utica YMCA and the Cooperative Extension Association of Oneida County, member of the board of governors, National Shooting Sports Association and secretary of the Dartmouth Club of the Mohawk Valley. He and Betty have four children.
John Ruppe has been appointed to the task force on educational programs of the National Program for Dermatology, and will have the responsibility of setting up a program on preventive dermatology to be taught to New York state junior and senior high school students.

J. ... Dick Hewlett's new book, "Atomic Shield, 1947-1952," the second volume of the official history of the Atomic Energy Commission was recently reviewed.
