Class news is becoming scarcer than a "hook minus" from "Edgy" Burns. So please take a moment to drop a line and let us know what you're up to.
I'm indebted to Scarsdale's own SteveBlecher for a potpourri of news about '64s whom he contacted during the Alumni Fund campaign. Steve writes that BruceHookerman, an M.D., was married in June and has moved from Philadelphia to St. Louis.
Dan Relies, who just bought a new home in Colts Neck, N. J., is working at the Bell Laboratories near there.
Hank Marshall is living in Huntington, Long Island, and is working for Merrill Lynch's real estate division.
Contrary to rumor, Steve writes that Geof Brod is definitely not doing undercover work for Interpol on the Italian Riviera. Nor is he developing a system of legalized off-court betting for the NBA, or selling securities for Avnet Electronics and Friendly Frost, Inc. Geof ("the other Greek") Brod is, however, doing computer systems work for an insurance company in Hartford, and persists in not writing to his friends.
Dave Plevin is the proud new father of a daughter Mimi. Dave works on Mayor Lindsay's budget staff in Fun City.
Dick Neely, following in the footsteps of his grandfather, is planning to enter the contest for U. S. Senator from West Virginia this fall.
Tom Brooker is married and holds the rank of Captain in the Army. Tom is stationed at West Point.
Finally, Steve notes that Wally Lord is living in Newark, Del. and working for Avon Products. Mike Rider is with Avon's computer operations in Westchester.
My spies in Worcester, Mass., tell me that Al Cotton is seeking reelection to the local school board. Al is employed as public relations supervisor for the Norton Co., and he lives with his parents in Worcester. In 1968, the Jaycees named Al as one of Worcester's ten outstanding young men.
George Evans married the former Nancy Wendell in Falmouth last August. George is associated with the John Hancock Mutual Life Insurance Company in Boston.
A Wah-Hoo-Wah for Bob Strichartz, who has served since 1969 as an assistant professor in Cornell's math department, and who has recently been promoted to the rank of associate professor. Bob has reportedly made important and original contributions to his discipline in the area of mathematical analysis.
John Shuster served as Producing Director for the Music Theatre Workshop in Springfield, Mass. this summer. John is Choral Music Director at West Springfield High School and holds a Master of Arts in Teaching degree from Harvard.
Pete Luitwieler reports that his lovely wife Marlene is expecting their second child this spring. "Chub" has recently returned to Miami from an extended business trip to Chile, and has been telling great stories about Allende's regime to Sandy Shapiro and me.
That completely does it to the class news bag, which looms as an awesome, empty cavern on my drawing room floor. If I don't receive any news soon, I'll be forced into the intolerable position of rehashing old "Crash McCord" war stories in the next column and we've all heard them too many times already. Later.
