News of the class is scarce and BobConant says that outside of two bits of news there will not be much more as all have paid their class dues. In general it appears, says Bob, that the class is not very communicative or articulate—maybe, he says, "they are over modest." The Conants expect to leave Hanover on January 10 for Ellinor Village in Ormand Beach, Fla., for three months. It will be their twelvth year there and they feel quite acquainted. They find the trip by auto not too arduous and make it in about four and a half days.

A salute and happy birthday to Maurice Avery (Feb. 25), Ralph Badger (Feb. 3), Ken Baker, Frank Dudensing, Joe Grout, Bill Gumbart, Dave Morey, James Murphy (in U. S. Veterans hospital since WWI).

One item of great interest to the class is the sudden death of our classmate HarveMcClary, December 3, '70. Harve was in the hospital and was coming along nicely when he had a turn for the worse and died at once. Bill Towler flew to Cedar Rapids and attended the funeral and represented the class. McClary entered Dartmouth from Mercersburg Academy; was a member of the Musical Clubs (manager); was a member of Alpha Delta Phi and Sphinx Senior Society. Harvey was active in business up to the time of his death, although at a much reduced rate. We have lost a loyal classmate and we send our sympathy to his wife and daughter and his four grandchildren.

Bill's letter upon his return from attending Harvey's funeral says that Virginia and Daughter Connie Paul of Waterloo, lowa, are taking it well. Harve had a massive coronary and lasted two hours, a blessing he did not survive. Bill and Harvey were close friends and for twenty years or more had written each other every two weeks. On Thanksgiving he wrote Bill that Paula and four grandchildren were visiting him for three days and Bill was about to write him to inquire if there was anything left of him and Virginia when he got the call that Harve was gone.

Eddie Edwards reports that he still has his Texas property which he gave to his son. It is now run by another firm so he has no connection. If he had kept on, he would be more active than ever as the business was growing so fast. He said his nephew Jake Edwards who Dartmouth said, lacked points, later became Dean of Trinity College (Hartford, Conn.), later at Lake Forest College where at the age of 28 he passed away from a heart attack. "Eddie tried to enter his son at Dartmouth but failed. He said he had made two tries to send a boy there—failed and now the heck with them."

A Christmas letter was received from Vic Dunbar of Sackville, New Brunswick, Canada, which was a very fine expression of the Spirit of Christmas Time. He sends this letter each year to the friends of Marjorie still living. Vic says that he visited near Marlboro, N. H., last summer and drove over there to see Brig Knight. He was saddened to learn that Brig had passed away last year. Helen is still in the old stone house and was very pleased to see him. The house is very large but her grandchildren call often so she plans to remain there. Vic says that he never hears about the Wright family. They're doing tolerably well, thank you. They had the pleasure of a visit from their one and only grandson, aged 6 months with his parents over New Year's.
