The flow of news seems to have been adversely affected by the extremely cold weather. I assume—by way of a change of address notification—that Jim Ford has avoided the cold by moving from So. Haven, Mich., to Bradenton, Fla. Have you retired from the insurance business, Jim?

Sam and Jean Black have had a busy twelve months of travel both for business and pleasure. They still maintain their home in New Britain, Conn., but Sam has a small apartment in New York City so he can be more conveniently located for his duties as executive director of the American Society of Corporate Secretaries, Inc. They spent a couple of weeks in Mexico last March for pleasure and have made two trips to the west coast, one to New Orleans, plus many shorter ones. As a Christmas present their son, John '63, and his wife Jane presented them with their first grandchild—a boy.

Hal and Copey Smith of Waterbury, Conn., have announced the engagement of their daughter, Margaret, to Winthrop H. Smith Jr., a senior at Amherst College. An August wedding is planned. The families are not related.

Jeff and Bea Davis' son, Ernest III, became engaged to Patricia Mitchell of Randolph, Vt. She is employed by the Charles S. Draper Laboratory, a division of M.I.T. in Cambridge. Chip is with the 57th Military Police Company stationed at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point.

At a time when most fellows are telling of their grandchildren, Gene Kaplan in Stevenson, Md., reports he is the father of five with the youngest being three and a half—Jonathan, and the oldest 29—Joseph '62. Anyone with a younger child before we make the 1933 youngest child award? In addition he has two grandchildren. Gene is pediatric chief at Sinai Hospital in Baltimore, medical director of Happy Hills Hospital and associate professor at Johns Hopkins. Congratulations!!! Gordan andIna McDonald of West Bridgewater, Mass., are also grandparents. Their daughter Margery, married her pilot and presented them with a son in San Diego.

Margaret Sayre, daughter of the late Ford Sayre and Mrs. Andrew Marshall, was married to Dr. Michael L. Wiederhold in Hanover on February 27.

Herb Shea, Little Silver, N.J., first vice president of the Bankers Trust New York Corporation, has been elected to the Board of Directors of Bank of Jamestown, N.Y. He is presently a vice president and director of the Empire State Chamber of Commerce and recently was elected to the Board of Directors of Crosman Arms Co., Inc. of Fairport, N.Y.

This is a reminder to those in the Boston area of the Boston Club's Annual Dinner on Tuesday, March 23, at the Sheraton- Boston Hotel. Bring your best gal, and if you have not received a special invitation from Sid Stoneman, please contact him. He has something special planned to which all the class are invited.
