A short note from Lew Beers tells us that he and Anita attended the annual New York Dartmouth dinner at the Commodore on March 24. Other '28 men with wives who were present were Milt Hoefle,Myles Lane, and Phil Orsi.

About 800 people were there and President Kemeny gave an excellent talk. The new football coach, Jake Crouthamel '6O was excellent also. Lew says that with a line averaging 250 lbs., the situation doesn't look too bad.

John and Peggy Phillips and Bill andBeatrice Marx attended a dinner March 21 in Saddle Brook, N. J., celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Dartmouth Club of Essex and Morris Counties. The guest speaker was Jake Crouthamel.

Attending the annual Boston Alumni Dinner on March 23 were Treasurer CraigHaines and Fred Cheever. Fred is working for radio station WPLY in Plymouth, Mass., and lives in Bourne—after four years in Boulder, Colo.

President Jack Kenerson and Fran just got home the end of March after vacationing in Arizona and Florida. They saw Hodand Vi Carver in their home in Green Valley, Ariz.; they have made Green Valley their legal address and sold their property and boat at Vinalhaven, Me.

The Kenersons then moved over to Naples, Fla., where they saw a lot of friends, then drove up the West coast and visited Jack's brother, David '37, who is an assistant professor in the Business Management division of the University of Florida. They stayed at the Lido Biltmore at Sarasota where they found Jack Waller as assistant manager. Jack has been in the hotel business since college, and will go with the management to the Bald Peak Colony Club at Melvin Village, N. H., this summer. While in Sarasota they _ had a reunion with Don and Billee Solis, who have just bought a house there, and with John and Ethel Nixon who were on holiday at the Three Crowns, a new highrise on the Lido Beach.

Bill Carrico thanked us for his birthday card and said he is "as retired as a real estate man can get with his boots on," and is moving to 1415 Green Mount Blvd., Rockford, Ill. He plans to keep busy with his green house and garden.

Curly Prosser of Canaan, N. H. is one of the newest recruits to SCORE (The Service Corps of Retired Executives), which is affiliated with the Small Business Administration. Curly was director of personnel with McCann Erickson and later of Young & Rubicam in New York. Most recently, from 1967 to 1970, he was the first president of Canaan College. Any local businessman who has a problem relating to advertising or personnel can obtain his services by writing to the Upper Valley Planning and Development Council in Lebanon, N. H.

Denver pediatrician Hank Reynolds has been elected president of the Children's Hospital medical staff, on which he has served since 1949.

Van Curll of Covina, Calif., says retirement is really a great way of life. He sold his truck trailer equipment business in 1968 and got involved in a little antique furniture business "which is highly unprofitable but fascinating." It doesn't take too much of his time so he and Dorothy managed to get their three daughters and their husbands and three grandchildren together at daughter Jessie Jensen's home near Grants Pass, Ore., for Christmas. No trips planned other than to visit their daughter who lives in Berryville, Va.

Joining the ranks of the retired are George Lee, vice president of the H. D. Lee Co. of Kansas City, Mo., now living in Shawnee Mission, Kan., and Dr. WillisMitchell of Toms River, N. J. Mitch writes that he and Grace have been in Dunedin, Fla., for six months building a home, but will return to the Jersey shore in May. Mitch had played golf the day before he wrote with Art Keleher '27 who has a home in Dunedin.

Americans are just going to have to learn to live with inflation as a way of life, according to John Lyman, vice president of the Security Title Insurance Co., who was addressing a Rotary Club in Los Angeles. John's statement was based on his belief that the only way to stop the spiral is for the government to stop spending more than it takes in, but he says the American people do not have the determination and self denial required to stop inflation.

The sad news of the death of five '28ers has just reached us. Dana Kenyon died March 7 when his car went off the road near Concord, N. H. The other deaths came to light when the Alumni Records office sent out questionnaires for the new College Directory: Hugh Smith died Mar. 26, 1969, Fred Douglas, Oct. 17, 1969, Paul Curry Nov. 2, 1969, and FrankCrowley Dec. 8, 1970.
