Advertising man Don Cowlbeck of Ogilvy & Mather has left the yellow roses of Texas for Toronto, where he has taken up duties as creative director for the agency. Don's swansong in Texas was a series of commercials for Shell, in which he was plugging a giant-size NFL drinking glass. To make this series of commercials, Don employed the services of some pretty big guys-Bubba Smith (6'8") of the Baltimore Colts, Merlin Olsen (6'7") of the L. A. Rams, and "Dandy Don" Meredith (6'3") of Monday night ABCTV Football. "All of them are great guys," says Don, "but since I am 5'11" and shrinking daily, I developed a bit of a size complex during the shooting."

The Cape Cod Standard Times recently did a feature on District Attorney Phil Rollins who with eight assistants handled more than 5,000 cases in 1971. Phil is a strong advocate of classroom before court-room. "Education is our mainstay against crime," he told the newspaper. "The average man must understand his constitutional rights. Very few realize what these rights are." Seventy per cent of the offenders in Phil's district commit drugrelated crimes, and the key problem for phil and his staff is lack of sufficient time for handling the tremendous caseload. "Justice delayed is justice denied ... it is also maligned," Phil says. "Many times cases are dismissed for lack of prosecution ... As a case in point, we dismissed a man accused of robbery due to lack of prosecution. He left the courthouse, crossed the street and held up the same store he'd robbed before. All within five minutes!" Phil is a graduate of Boston College Law School and has been a practicing attorney for 12 years.
