A Merry Christmas to all '08ers and their families, large and small. Mail has been scarce again.
Stacey Irish has entered the broad-jump derby, with a leap from Evanston, Ill., to Boise, Idaho, 1777 South Curtis Road, 87300. The Irish's have a unique, effective way of handling their correspondence. Stacy writes the first half; Bernice, his wife, the second half. Thus nothing is omitted. Stacey reminisces a bit and reports two reasons for the jump; the advice of a physician re Bernice's heart, and that almost universal desire to seek the comfort and safety of nearness to their family. Bernice reports on the wonders of the Retirement Home where they are living. It amounts to an invitation to come and see. Their daughter and husband and two teenagers live 20 minutes away and they see them every day. Stacey and Bernice have been presented recently with a great-grandson.
Word has come of the death of PercyGleason, on October 22 at Winchester. An obituary will be found on another page of this or a later edition. We have learned also of the death of Ruth E. (Mrs. Robert F.) Thompson, about October 15. The word came from her son, Richard, who shared her home.
Long before you have read this, you will have received, via the '08er, an opening blast re Reunion on June 8, 9, 10. If you have not returned the postcard which accompanied the '08er, with your intentions, as they now stand, please do so now. It is not only convenient but important that we are kept informed to help make proper arrangements, at the proper cost.
