Dr. David Robinson, a classmate not often heard from, was recently elected president of the medical staff of Mt. Sinai Hospital in Hartford, Conn. Dave has been on the staff of Mt. Sinai for 20 years and is director of the hospital's obstetrics-gynecology department, chairman of the Medical Advisory Board of Planned Parenthood, and is a clinical associate in gynecology at the University of Connecticut Medical School. Dave served as a captain in the Army Medical Corps during World War II and received the Purple Heart, Bronze Star and Oak Leaf Cluster.

Classmate Dr. Clinton W. Pickering, widely known Lynn, Mass., dental surgeon has received a fellowship from the American College of Dentists at a meeting of that organization in Atlantic City, N. J. Dr. Pickering is a past president of the Rotary Club of Lynn, past president of Tufts University Dental Alumni Association, past secretary of North Shore District Dental Society, and a retired commander in the U. S. Naval Reserve Dental Corps. He was formerly on the dental staff of Massachusetts Memorial Hospital and Tufts University Dental School. He is currently on the dental staff of Lynn Hospital.

I now write of Ben Ames Williams Jr. whose distinguished career in banking has provided much space for this column. Ben has now been elected a director of the First National Bank of Boston where he has been serving as executive vice president. Along with this went his election as director of First National Boston Corp., the parent corporation.

Lewis G. Harriman Jr., vice president for urban affairs of the Manufacturers' and Traders Trust Company, was a recent guest speaker at the annual Chamber of Commerce fall dinner meeting held at the Springville Hotel in Springville, N. Y. Harriman is active in many service and civic betterment organizations. They are in part: Empire State Chamber of Commerce, Greater Buffalo Development Foundation, Citizens Advisory Committee on Community Improvement, Council of Churches, Calasanctius Preparatory School and others.

Bates Fabrics, Inc. has announced that Whitefoord S. Mays has rejoined the organization and has been elected president. Whitey was previously associated with Bates but later left and became president of Morgan Jones. Whitey is usually running neck and neck with PatGorman in the field of corporate achievement and we are delighted but not surprised by his latest move.

It is always nice to receive word from a classmate who has not been heard from for some years. DuVal Cravens, by his own admission, dropped all pretense of modesty and sent me a news release concerning his appointment as president of the Buffalo Society of Natural Sciences. This organization, which has been in existance for over two years, was organized to stimulate the advance of astronomy by financing the construction of better research facilities. Thanks, Val, and we're glad to hear from you. In the world of business, Val is the vice president of Osmose, a Buffalo corporation engaged in research and production of wood preservatives.
