Fred Byrd is a regular columnist for the Newark "Star-Ledger," reporting on local volunteer groups. He just recently returned from a tour of duty with the Peace Corps in the Ivory Coast. Fred plans to eventually return there to work in publishing. He feels that every Black American should spend some time in Africa to gain a better perspective of their cultural heritage.
Jim Magyar will be married this coming summer to Elaine Stedman (Mt. Holyoke). They are both currently studying at Northwestern.
Jim Treadway graduated from Cornell in December. He was president of the school's honorary society.
Kelly Simpson and Sally Edwards (Wheaton) are planning a summer wedding. Kelly is in his final year at Cornell Law School.
After having graduated from the Warton School in December, Dave and SuzyCook have moved to the warmer climate of Winston-Salem, N.C.
Dick and Jean Glovsky are planning an extended European adventure after Dick's graduation from Boston College Law School in June.
Dick Jordan received a Marshall Fellowship and is studying Eskimos and paleontology at the Danish National Museum. He and Yvonne were reportedly seen passing through Northern New England just before their departure for Denmark.
Tom and Debby Gilmore are living in Lyme while Tom completes his studies at the Tuck School. After graduation, it's off to the Navy.
Kesang Tashi is now back at the University of Wisconsin after having travelled to northern India doing field work in preparation for his upcoming dissertation.
As you might have noticed, this column does not carry the distinctive earmarks of our resident scribe, Al Fraker. Al is deeply involved in study of anthropology and education at Duke University, and has found it imperative that he resign.
