Cowntdown to Reunion has begun, with only two months left to pack the frisbies, find that old sweatshirt and head for the hills (now on safe interstate highways).
Here's a potpourri of information about people you're sure to run into in June, so listen hard.
Rich Belding and Sharon Allen were married on December 28 in Austin, Texas, just two days after Chuck Oakley and Susan Hubbard exchanged vows in Stamford, Conn. Chuck is studying architecture at the University of Pennsylvania and Susan is a fourth grade teacher in Philly.
Taylor and Hilda Ollmann welcomed Erica to their Baton Rouge, La., home in early January, where she joined one-year-old Ian. Taylor describes his lot as "full of mathematics, teaching, woodcarving and sunshine." Not bad at all.
Peter Melcarek married Natalie Cole of Everett, Wash., back in December, 1970 and is currently finishing work on his Forestry thesis at Yale... John Pearson has been promoted to Director, Equipment Planning at Burlington Northern in St. Paul.... Ned Northrop took his U. of Virginia MBA to Brown Bros. Harriman in New York, and brought wife Christi and two-year-old Wilhelm to the bright lights.
Will Morgan is teaching in the Department of Art & Archaeology at Princeton... Blair Morrissey is working toward a Ph.D. in Philosophy at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland.
Here's a direct report from DougNorwood, now living in Bethlehem, Pa., with his four-year-old son Hugh, and Sarah: "Presently offering some direction to a group of Jesus People in the Allentown area, working with the youth at a church in Reading, praying, and enjoying life in the company of the Lord."
Hector Motroni completed two years with the U. S. Public Health Service and joined Xerox as a decision analyst working for the former Dean of Thayer School, Dr. Myron Tribus, Xerox's new Research & Engineering VP. Myra Motroni is continuing her teaching career.
Jim Modesette is a lawyer for a litigation firm in LA and reports that Danand Sudey Williams, another Angeles arbiter and bride, live in a cliff house in Santa Monica that once belonged to Mae West. We'll have to go out and see it some time.
Also in LA, Mike Masin is an attorney with O'Melveny & Myers... DaveHoffman, married in May, 1971 to Jane Billingsley, is working as a public defender for the 20th Judicial Circuit in St. Clair County, Ill.... Mike Bromley is an associate with a Colorado Springs law firm and he and Becky (Smith '67) couldn't love the "fresh air, the mountains and the friendly people" more.
John Lewis spent two years with the Vista Lawyers program in Colorado before returning with Diana to New York where he is an associate with Cravath, Swaine & Moore ... Andy Seidman, who is a New York attorney with Dreyer & Traub and is married to Roberta, recently attended the wedding of David Stedman, now married to Peggy. If they ever go into partnership, would it be Seidman & Stedman or Stedman & Seidman. Maybe we'll find out at Reunion.
Lt. Wally Elton, equipped with an MA and Ph.D. in biogeography from Michigan State University, is nearing the end of his two-year-tour as communications officer on the USS Mobile out of San Diego. He's four years into his happy hitch with Jean. ... Bill Gruver has only three months left in the Navy, and to keep the wheels moving has been teaching sociology at a local junior college.
Charles Weil is a product manager on dessert mixes at General Mills, Minn., and Joyce is teaching trainable mentally retarded youngsters ... Lt. Nick Steffen is stationed at the Pacific Missile Range, Pt. Mugu, Calif., and flys EC121 "Super Connies". Nick's hoping to get in for the reunion. If he can come from Pt. Mugu, what's so tough about Yourtown, USA?
