The skiing is still good and with an estimated 100 to 125 feet of snow under the Tuckerman Headwall on Mt. Washington, it should last well into June. Things are changing, however, so it will be possible to enjoy this skiing without having to hike in as in the good old days. Snow vehicles will take skiers from the Wildcat base station in Pinkham Notch up the eight-mile Mt. Washington auto road for skiing on the summit snowfields, Tuckerman Ravine, Raymond Cateract, and the Gulf of Slides.

George Mundt is chairman of the German department at Colgate. He and Henriette have seven grandchildren, three belonging to George Jr. '6O. He spent his last sabbatical in Chile and with the German element in Argentina and then went on to Europe for some research which he hopes to continue this summer. In the spring of '73, he expects to direct a Colgate semester program in Vienna. George writes: "With only two of us the house is big and empty. We should be delighted to have '33 visitors."

Mel Katz wrote from New York: "On February 21 our son Bill, Dartmouth '60, Tuck MBA '61, received his Doctorate in Business Administration at George Washington University where he has been teaching courses in Hospital Administration for the past four years. We had a family reunion to celebrate the occasion. Bill lives in Bowie, Md., with wife and our grandchildren. During our visit to D. C., we contacted Hank Smith and had a marvelous afternoon visiting him in his offices in the Congressional building." Mel sent along this picture representing possibly three Dartmouth generations: Hank Smith'33, Mel '33, Bill '60, granddaughter '92 (in the papoose), and Ruth '33w. Obviously Mel is in favor of the Dartmouth coeducational program.

According to a Washington columnist, John Monagan "took a few minutes of House floor time to discuss the admittance of women to Dartmouth" but unfortunately he didn't quote John's remarks. What did you say? Are you for or against?

Wes Beattie launched this year's Alumni Fund with this comment to class agents: "The Early Bird Wins the Green Derby. We did it last year. We can do it again." So please send your gift in early and endeavor to increase it at least 15% so we can keep the momentum rolling.
