Our Fifth Reunion was much more than expected. Of course it had its parties and feasts, but there was also a solemn sermon for our deceased classmates and a thoughtful lecture and discussion on "Future Shock." Curt Anderson did a tremendous job in planning the Reunion and making certain that all ran smoothly. In sum, the weekend was nicely balanced and not only gave us the opportunity to renew old friendships but enabled us to create new ones.
The recently elected class executive committee met and made several decisions regarding class projects, activities and dues which will be publicized at length later this summer in the newsletter. Members of the committee are: Warren Cook, president; Jack Curley, vice president; Jon Goldsmith, secretary; Jeff Zimmerman, treasurer; Doug Darby, newsletter editor; George Bellows, class agent; CharlieHoeveler, West Coast class agent; CurtAnderson, Reunion chairman; John Kornet; Ted Lalioche; and Ed Mallet.
The weekend was also rich in information on '67s both absent and in attendance.
Burt Franzman is a psychologist at the Belchertown State Hospital in Massachusetts. One of his current projects is organizing the volunteers.
After much searching in the sparse academic job market, Ralph Cohen found a position as a freshman English instructor at Duke, also working for his doctorate.
After drama training at Smith College, Jerry Zaks is in summer stock on Long Island and presently is appearing in a musical, Rothschilds.
Bill Yaggy is a member of the Ensemble Studio Theater Group in NYC. Frank Gilroy '5O is also a contributor to the group. Bill is studying acting and doing technical work as a livelihood.
Word has it that Ora McCreary is a systems analyst for the Federal Reserve Bank in NYC and is maintaining bachelor's quarters.
After a degree from Thayer and a tour of duty with the armed forces, DennisPollack entered Brown University School of Medicine in Providence, R.I., where he will begin his sophomore year this fall.
Bruce Pacht is a svelte commune farmer south of Hanover.
Roger, Grace and child Branham are in Cleveland where Roger is entering his second year of training at the Case Western Reserve Medical School.
Along with three others, Ron Martin has organized a computer time-sharing company in Ann Arbor, Mich. Ron and wife Ann have one child.
After several years as a self-employed lawyer in Cambridge, Mass., Gerry Billow has joined the Establishment and is working for a judge of the housing court in Boston. Currently, Gerry is writing the rules of the court.
Sam Cockrel graduated from Tuck this past June and plans to move to Florida. One of the few doctors at Reunion was Bill Adams. He is presently doing residency training at Mass General.
Dick Clapp recently received his M.P.H. from Columbia and will probably begin work for the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, Division of Prison Health Affairs in the late summer. Until June of this year, Dick was working at the Riker's Island prison in NYC.
