With summer vacations and activities now behind us we can, once again, turn our thoughts to the important things of life - football games And Bill Breed, your new class social chairman has great plans for the fall. When you read this, the first big weekend of the fall, the Holy Cross game, may be gone but you can still plan for several more class get togethers. First of all, be sure to join the Class at the Harvard Game in Cambridge on October 27. Gene Brooks will undoubtedly have his usual well organized staff on hand for pre-game cocktail set-ups and we are pleased to announce your June Reunion Committee will host a Bloody Mary Party before the game, also. Full details will be announced in SamWallis' Crier. Circle the 27th of October, for sure.

Following this, we have another tailgate party planned for Hanover on November 3, the Yale same weekend. This will be the first time Yale has played in Hanover in many years and we're looking for a great turnout. Bring the family and look forward to a fine weekend. Again, full details will be carried in the Crier.

As we noted above, Bill Breed has accepted responsibility as social chairman and we can all look forward to some terrific get-togethers under his leadership. We'd also like to add the names of the new class executive committee for the next four years. These men were selected because of their loyalty and interest in the Class and, in many cases, because of their past contributions of time and effort for all of us. We also have a good geographical balance to represent our classmates. The committee is Roy Abbott, John Barto, Ceb Benisch, Bill Breed, Dick Bressler, Gene Brooks, Doe Dey, Whitey Dunlap, Ed Finerty, Cy Gsell, Clarence Palitz, Nate Parker, Angus Russell, Jack Shuman, Lou Zehner, and Pete Zischke. Now that's a good group.

Over the summer we've collected lots of news notes about the Class. Both the Logan boys are in the news. First, we are pleased to learn that FrankLogan has returned to Hanover as Associate Secretary of the Bequest and Estate Planning Program, Office of Development. As many of you know, Frank previously served the College as assistant director of admissions from 1956 to 1962. He then moved on to Antioch College as dean of admissions where he has served the past 11 years. I'm sure Frank's business talent plus his interest and activity in music will be a great asset to the college community.

Norm Logan is also in the news as he has been elected a vice president of Philadelphia Investment Company where he is director of planning and administration. Philadelphia Investment is a subsidiary of INA Corporation.

Around the geographic circuit ... out in Ohio Tom Loemker, president of Monarch Marking Systems, has been elected a vice president of his parent company, Pitney-Bowes. Tom has been with P-B since 1955. Moving from Michigan to York is John North. John has been with Michigan Bell Telephone since 1955 and he has now been promoted to assistant vice president for traffic operations with American Telephone (Ma Bell) in the Big Apple. Earlier this year Chuck Best was elected a vice president of Reynolds purities and has been appointed manager of r Dallas, Texas office.

Although the College reported on this earlier, we'd like to mention a news item on DickBressler. Dick has been elected a vice president of Atlantic Richfield Company (ARCO) and he will be located in Los Angeles where he will head the financial administration division of Arco. Dick was very kind to contribute a most interesting book, Look To The Mountain Top, which was given to every classmate attending our recent reunion.

We'd like to know more about this one. Presient Nixon announced in July that he had appointed Dick Dick Kinnier to a special assignment in the Boston area to help southern New England solve problems caused by the cutback or closing of several military bases in the region. Dick has been with the U.S. Commerce Department for several years specializing in economic development and this new challenge sounds most interesting.

Bill Randell has written us of a major career change which sounds very exciting. An attorney in Milwaukee, Bill has left private practice to become vice president and general counsel of the Midland National Bank in Milwaukee. His law firm has had a close relationship with the bank since its founding in 1965. Bill mentioned he had a week's vacation in the spring with JonWalton and their families. Jon has just been elected president of the Greater Detroit Area Hospital Council in addition to his business responsibility as a senior vice president of the National Bank of Detroit.

Another interesting note comes from DickSwicker in New Jersey. Dick is with the business affairs department of NBC in New York, but I wonder about that. He paid his class dues twice this year. However, he can rightfully be proud that his son Chip has been accepted as a member of the Class of '77.

A couple of leftover notes from Reunion. RossDaniels sends a postcard from Switzerland saying he and Fayne had to go over there to get their class watches fixed. Gsell will deal with him later. Jim Flom, on the other hand, placed an urgent call to my office for an additional three watches to supply his clan in Michigan. By the way, we have about ten watches left which we will be pleased to sell. Price is $10 each. First come, first served.

Ken Heusinkveld and family have just added their names to the long list of classmates in the Boston area. Ken has been elected vice president, finance, for Courier Printing in Lowell. Ken was formerly a group controller for Singer in New York. Chev Haskell has been named to the school board in Wesport, Conn. Chev is one of our many successful IBM'ers. Pete McSpadden has been elected an executive vice president of Dancer-Fitzgerald-Sample in New York. His company designed our reunion logo this year and Pete handled the publicity. In the education field we have learned that Dick Little is now associate professor of geography at West Virginia University and Dick Carleton is with the Dennis-Yarmouth, Mass., school district where he is teaching Social Studies at their high school.

Don't forget to mark your calenders for at least the Harvard game, October 27, in Cambridge and for the Yale game the following weekend, November 3 in Hanover. Free Bloody Marys in Cambridge.
