Two "friendly bankers" in the Class have recently been promoted. Robert E. Lee has been elected executive vice president of the Old National Bank of Washington in Spokane. The bank has 54 offices statewide and over $450 million in assets. Bob began his banking career at the Great Falls (Montana) National Bank in 1959 and advanced to the position of executive vice president before being tapped by the Washington bank. Bob has been active in a number of civic organizations in Great Falls. He has been president of the Charles M. Russell Museum - a must place to visit for fans of western art - a director of the Montana Council of Boy Scouts, president and director of the Cascade County Cancer Society and a director of both the YMCA and the Montana State Chamber of Commerce. Great Fall's loss in Spokane's gain.

Paul Hickey has been elected a vice president of Irving Trust Company in New York. Paul is a loaning and contact officer in the central district of the bank's national division. He has been with Irving Trust since 1961 and has served in the bank's Wall Street and international divisions.

Christian Weber has been elected vice president of the southern region of the Fuel Merchants Association of New Jersey. Chris is executive vice president of the Federal Oil Company in Camden, a business founded in 1908 by his grandfather, who used to make deliveries with horse and wagon. With the current fuel shortage, maybe we could learn something from Chris' grandfather! Chris is well-known in the Burlington-Camden area for his civic activities. He lives in Medford Lakes with his wife Margaret and their two children.

Dr. William D. Graham has been named director of emergency room services at Kent County Memorial Hospital in Rhode Island. Bill is responsible for coordinating the efforts of physicians, administration and nursing departments, and the rescue units, which are playing an increasingly important role in emergency room medicine. The hospital emergency room at Kent County Memorial takes care of nearly 50,000 patients per year. Bill has been associated with the hospital since 1966 and for five years was an emergency room physician. He attended medical school at the University of Rochester (N.Y.) and served in the U.S. Navy for seven years as a pilot and flight surgeon. Bill lives in Jamesport.

Dr. Earl Jay Kasdon has been promoted to assistant professor on the Harvard University Faculty of Medicine. The good doctor is also assistant professor of pathology at Beth Israel Hospital, and lives in Needham. He is a graduate of the Tufts University School of Medicine.

Howland G. Keller was recently elected secretary of the Insurance Company of North America and is headquartered in Philadelphia. Howie joined the company in 1961 as a special marine trainee in the New York office. In the intervening years he has held underwriting and managerial positions at the company's Philadelphia and Boston offices. Howie is a graduate of Harvard Law School. He makes his home in Devon, Pa.

Dick Sunderland is co-owner with his brother of Chesapeake Services, a carpet and drapery sales and cleaning firm in Baltimore. Dick is president of the Rotary Club, a member of the Advertising Club of Baltimore and is active in the local Republican party. He keeps in close touch with Gary Sachs, who is executive vice president of the Capitol Bullets of the NBA, and with Scott Corey. Dick, his wife Carolyn, and their two children live in Baltimore.

Dick Duncan has moved from Washington, D.C., to Los Angeles where he is West Coast bureau chief for Time. Dick, as always, travels "non-stop" for the magazine and he is finding the Coast "very interesting new territory." Dick frequently sees Bob Young, who is in community relations with the Security Pacific Bank. Dick, Jan and their two daughters live in Pacific Palisades.

Those of you who read The New York Times have probably seen Moscow datelined pieces under the byline of Chris Wren. Since Chris speaks Russian, I assume he is now a member of the Times' Moscow Bureau.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
