The medical types get top honors this month as the bulk of this column's news involves that profession. The Boston University School of Medicine recently appointed Dr. Alan Robbins as a lecturer on radiology. Living in Waban, Mass. Alan earned his M.D. from Tufts.

Dr. Tom Otter finished a hand surgery fellowship in June and now practices as one of the San Mateo (Calif.) Medical Group. He and Barbara are glad to be back in Northern California after their stint in L.A. And Dr. Ken Robertson is back from Minnesota and a gastroenterology fellowship, living in Corvallis, Ore., and practicing internal medicine. He reports seeing Dr.Ray and Ginny LaSure when they passed through Oregon while on vacation from Stamford.

Dr. John Roberts has been promoted to assistant professor of physiology at Case Western Reserve School of Medicine, Cleveland. John holds a Ph.D. degree from Duke and lives in Cleveland Heights.

There was great joy this Christmas for Steveand Judy Plank as Steve reported Derek JoelPlank, their first child, was born on December 16. Way to go, Steve!

John Folmer and his father opened their own law practice last March, naming it, appropriately, Folmer & Folmer. John's other activities include being, for the past three years, the youngest president ever of the Cortland (N. Y.) Memorial Flospital Board of Trustees, vice president of the Cortland County Bar Association, and for kicks playing trombone with the Old Timers Band.

After twelve years with Scott Paper, DickBareuther played out his option and signed on with Avon last May, and is currently working out of Newark, Del., in field sales operations. Dick and his wife and family live in West Chester, Pa., and their household expanded by one a year ago last January with the addition of a daughter named Sherri.

Scott Palmer finished his Ph.D. in political science at Cornell this past spring, writing his thesis on Peruvian Military Government. He is now teaching at Bowdoin College.

A two-liner from Gordon Roeder reports a move to Germany for a year or so to teach in a Gymnasium, or secondary school. He is no doubt enjoying the change Of pace and improving his German.

I'm also grateful to Gary Ewing for taking the time to write that his first child. Kimberly. was born in June, and that he is in the ---- distribution business in Salt Lake City. Sorry, Gary, I couldn't read your writing and even the "Grated only" reference provided no clue. All of us would appreciate your filling in the blank.

Treasurer Bill Duggan timed the dues bills magnificently again this year. The late mailing last spring was due to a fire in his office, he said, but I can't imagine why he picked December this time unless he is trying to keep us off balance. Seriously though, I hope your checkbook is in balance and will allow you to respond now if you haven't already. And please don't forget to add some information about yourself for this column. I hope some news comes in or this space next month will be even shorter.
