At long last I can finally say that the revised address directory of the Class is at the printer and that therefore you should receive your copy this summer. We did not expect it to take this long, however the number of changes were greater than anticipated and consequently took much more time to arrange in order. We will try to find some means of keeping you posted on future changes perhaps through Tithe.

You will undoubtedly have a more detailed report later as to the "Reunion in Portugal" but I hear it was a success even though the weather was not quite as expected. I also hear that questions as to "where do we go next year" have already been asked. Naturally you will be informed as to any further developments.

Charlie and Faith Brooks of Gardner, Mass., should be interested in the progress of coeducation in Hanover in the future. They have three married daughters, Rebecca, Candace, and Judy and they have four granddaughters from six months to four years old. It would seem that Charlie's prospects of having a grandchild at Dartmouth are pretty good. Charlie is still president of Conant Ball Co., a furniture manufacturing business, and active in various community affairs.

Another company president in the Class is DickTaylor. Dick and Dodie live in Southport, Conn., and Dick is president of the Electroloy Co. in Bridgeport, Conn. They are manufacturers of welding electrodes. Son David lives in Massachusetts where he teaches Oceanography and Chemistry in a regional high school. Debby lives in Williamsburg, Va., where her husband teaches at William & Mary. Barbara is working on her masters at Columbia. The Taylors have three grandchildren.

Among the numerous medical men in our class is Francis G. Soule of Andover, Mass. Bud and Bettie settled in Andover after Bud had completed more than 20 years as a Navy doctor, including being at Pearl Harbor for the Japanese attack. He left the Navy in 1965 and now is director of education for the Lahey Clinic Foundation in Boston and medical director for Phillips Andover and Abbot Academies in Andover. The Soules have three sons, John is in law school after five years as a naval aviator. Dick is on active duty with the Navy and due to return to Dartmouth this year. Bob is finishing his first year at Amherst this spring.

John and Jane Ovitz live in Sycamore, Ill., where John is a practicing physician and surgeon. He was in the Army Medical Corps from 1941 to 1946 and has been in Sycamore since then. Oldest daughter Carol is a commodity broker and the first female member of the Chicago Board of Trade. Jean is married to an army career man, and Jack works for General Telephone. Robert and Anne are in junior high. The Ovitzs have three grandchildren. John's community service has included the Board of Education, Chamber of Commerce, County Medical Society, and president of the Board of Religious Education of his Church.

Bob and Dean Blades live in Hornell, N.Y., where Bob is president of A. L. Blades & Sons, Inc. general contractors. Bob says he is working too damn hard with lots of flood repair work. Perhaps it's eased up since his card was written last fall. Daughter Bonnie is married to a veterinarian and living in Norway, Me. Bob Jr. is an engineer working for the U.S. Public Health Service in South Dakota. Betsy is a senior at Skidmore majoring in geology and plans to get a doctorate. Bob has been active in various community affairs and they enjoy skiing and riding their own hunters and jumpers, as well as golf and fishing.

Cliff and Pearsie Porter live in Sands Point, N.Y., from where Cliff commutes to 80 Pine St. in New York City. He is a partner in the law firm of Cahill, Gordon, Sonnett, Reindel and Ohl. Cliff reports that Lee, the second of three daughters, is executive secretary of the President's Citizen's Committee on Environmental Quality. The Porters have taken frequent trips to Europe on vacation, with the most recent being a return visit to Yugoslavia last fall.

This is the last column until October, so have a good summer and if you find time drop me a card with your latest news. Don't forget the meeting of the Executive Committee at Stone End Lodge, Sunapee, N.H. on October 12 and 13 to which all class members are welcome. Meeting is Friday night and a gathering Saturday night after the Dart-Penn game. Let us know ahead for lodging or just for meals. Write Ray Builter, 160 Judson Rd. Fairfield, Conn. 06430 or me.
