The vault mark now belongs to sophomore John Carmony from Wooster, Ohio, who cleared 15 feet 1½ inches during the final dual meet with Springfield.

Cummins was the post-season standout. In addition to winning the New England crown, he was second in the IC4A meet. He dipped to 18th place in the NCAA meet at Louisiana State.
