It is sad to report the passing of one of the top January 14 our class. Joe Cottone died on Obituaries) Hartford Hospital (see

It is aPPropriate to mention that one of the leading surgeons of this very hospital is Dr. Joe Pyrtek whom Bill Webster chanced to run into in January.Web rePorts that Joe retains his football playing weight of 165 pounds, and looks as sturdy and shapely as ever. Joe is planning on making the upcoming reunion this June.

Speaking of June 10 through 12, some 70 men have indicated their intention of attending Reunion. Several will have children along so this number translates into approximately 150 people to date. There is a letter due momentarily (if not just received) from co-chairmen Webster and Cornie Miller with all the handsome particulars, and one that will encourage you to sign up for the festivities. Golf and tennis will be available Monday, June 10, before, during and after registration. Also before the picnic at Bon- nie Oaks on Tuesday should you require a different challenge. The class meeting will be held over coffee and dessert Tuesday night at the banquet planned for the Hanover Inn. Our chairmen have a call out for volunteers to take charge of running the golf and tennis tournaments. Incidentally the classes of '38 and '4O will also be on hand so there'll be ample opportunity to meet old friends in these sister classes.

We received a pleasant letter from RogerStanwood (as we were in the very process of putting these notes to paper). Rog says that "As a result of my employer's corporate restructuring, I was made President and Chief Executive Officer of three companies involved in the exploration and production of oil and gas, namely Transcontinental Production Company, Trans-Gulf Transmission Corporation, and Transco Production of Canada, Ltd. These companies are wholly owned subsidiaries of the new parent company, Transco Companies, Inc. by whom I have been employed (through the predecessor company) for 23 years." We hasten to add our congratulations to Rog, and wish him Godspeed in his exploration and production of the much needed oil and gas. We could use some right here in Pittsfield for starters!!

Georgie Hanna sends along a Harvard Club Bulletin out of Boston which indicates that a Dick Durrance Jr. delivered a slide lecture entitled "Along the Appalachian Trial." This is of course the son of THE Dick Durrance, the former being also a skier of note, Class of '65, and in this instance, summing up a six months hiking trip done on assignment for the National Geographic, for whom he has written in the past.

We have a new address for Jack Bowie who apparently has come home to the States after a sojourn in Europe as a political advisor in Headquarters,' U.S. European Command. Colonel Bob Hall is still in Fort Sam Houston, Texas, zip 78234, but is quartered at HQ B.A.M.C. Ralph Holben who is playing us like a yo-yo reported his Hanover address as home last month, but now we have a new foreign address reading American Embassy AID, APO, New York, N.Y. 09899. Phil Keller is at Route 11A Gilford, N.H. 03246. Ray Merrick had a street change to 71 Capt. Chase Rd., South Yarmouth, Mass. 02664. Ditto, Wyman Vaughan who lists his address as 319 Codfish Falls Rd., Storrs, Conn. 06268. Wyman is apparently connected with UConn. in that pleasant Connecticut town. Col Doug Younger is now situated at 3505 King Arthur Rd., Annandale, Va. 22003, and Sam Thurm, reported in our last to have moved to the nation's capitol can be addressed at Assn. of National Advertisers, 1725 K. St., N.W. Washington, D.C. 20006.

We would assume that Walt Darby will have a newsletter out shortly, listing the names of those preparing to return to the big 35th June 10 and 12. Look it over carefully and note the jolly company which will be on the Hanover Plain. It promises to be a pleasant affair which we can highly recommend.

'Til April.
