We are on short rations in the news department this month, a condition that we feel sure will not prevail in the July issue because this will give us an opportunity to sum up the glorious 35th Reunion. That Reunion may be in full fire just before, or just after you read this very material. It is always touch and go as to when the "Mag" hits the mailbox, and we'll make predictions at this writing.

More often than not we start our monthly piece with the disquieting news concerning the demise of one of our classmates an important chore, albeit, always a sad one. This month, and perhaps it is because of the lively month, and when most things seem new and hope springs, we can lead with the announcement of a birth. Nathan Devers Shumaker viewed the world for the first time on March 9, 1974 weighing in at 5 pounds 3. He is the grandson of our own Ray Merrick who reports that contrary to popular - the child was purple and not green at birth, and this only because his daddy Terry Shumaker, is also out of Hanover, the Class of '70.

President of the Youngstown Metal Products Company as of April 1 (no fooling) is Earle D. Stevenson, stepped up from a Veepee post he had held with the company for exactly three years. Earle has been with the company since 1963, having joined the outfit as sales manager, bringing with him management skills acquired as plant manager of Ansted Division of Thompson Industries, and previous supervisory positions with Ackerman Manufacturing and Ingersoll Steel Division of Borg-Warne: Chicago. Steve is living at 865 Forest Ridge Dr, Youngstown, Ohio; is the father of three, daughter Beth Anne Siculan, Evanston, Ill, and two sons, Earle 111 of Indianapolis, and Todd of Washington, D.C.

Ev Woodman lists a new address at Lamson Lane, R.F.D., New London, N.H. 03257. We have no word on Ev's latest endeavors since his resignation from Nature Conservancy as its president; but it's obvious he has opted for the old stamping grounds.

Moose Wyman lists his address as 160 North Rd., Wings Neck, Pocasset, Mass. 02559. which we assume is seasonal. We'll know by reunion time.

Your scribe is currently off for the Class Officers May meetings in Hanover in company with Prexy Bert MacMannis, Class Agent Robb DeGraff, Treasurer Sam Thurm, Newsletter Editor Walt Darby, reunion chairmen WillWebster and Cornie Miller, and we'll see bequest chairman Bob Kaiser, in residence. So what else is new other than an encouraging interim report - at this writing - on our Reunion Alumni Fund effort toward our $150,000 goal by the end of June!
