An enthusiastic group of alumni gathered on May 15 at the Army-Navy Club in Manila to formally inaugurate the Dartmough Alumni Club of the Philippines. Honors for most distant attendees went to Dr. Janito Chua '64 M, driving from four provinces away, and Jim Froude'42, who flew m from Baguio. Negative honors went to Howard Price '44, Bryce Bastian '54 and Domingo Diaz Tu '72, who were roaming the girdled earth to other climes.
The Club was launched with the election of officers: Mai Churchill '60, president; GenePerez '73, vice president; and Bate Ewart '42 secretary-treasurer. Bolstered with program ideas from Dick Henry '31, John Hicks '58, JoeAsperilla '58S, Doug Hopton '61, and Mark Blanchard '66, the Club looks forward to an exciting year.
Small in numbers but big in enthusiasm, the Club especially hopes that newcomers and those passing through the Philippines will make their presence known. Mai Churchill can be contacted at the U.S. Embassy."
