Labor Day has come and gone and summer has passed. Somewhere (although not in South Florida) leaves are turning brown, and another fall term is beginning at Hanover. Makes one a bit nostalgic.
For those who care to capture that mood, the Class "Mini-Reunion" is set for the weekend of October 17-19. The Class has reserved the entire Norwich Inn and Don McCree has set up an interesting weekend complete with cocktail parties, panel discussions, a football game, etc.

I received a lengthy and interestint note from Naval Commander Ron Zwart who has been living for the past three years in Iran and is now preparing to return to the States. Ron's note is worth setting forth verbatim:
"After almost three years in Iran, my wife Rena, our 8 and 10-year-old prospective 'women of Dartmouth' and I are preparing to return to the United States to start sharing some of the problems from which we've spared recently by living abroad. We almost feel guilty about missing the network news' versions of Watergate, Vietnam, recession, inflation, urban crime and the other cheerful events which have been animating our era at home.
"Nonetheless, there seems to be a certain advantage in being blissfully behind these times, especially since we've enjoyed our tour in Tehran so thoroughly. We've been here during a particularly interesting period that has seen Iran emerge as the most dynamic and, I think, the most promising nation in the Middle East Though quadrupled oil revenues here have added to economic disruption in the West, they have induced remarkable changes and created a fascinating range of possibilities for Iran."
"As a staff officer assigned to the U. S. Military Assistance Advisory Group, I've been closely involved in the $10 billion effort to expand and modernize Iran's armed forces. Further, as the policy advisory and briefing officer for the command, I've had the unique opportunity to interpret developments in Iran for a variety of visiting U. S. military leaders, government officials, Congressmen, Senators, and journalists."
Please keep the cards and letters coming.
