Paul Miner tells of a recent visit to AndyScarlett '10. Andy has been pretty much confined to his high rise apartment in Clearwater for several years.

Two of our classmates have recently lost their wives. They are Ed Healey and Eric Ball. The sympathy of the Class has been extended.

Here comes a flood of news, mostly from the gals. Get ready for the deluge.

Catherine Angell: "Have been gardening . .. and have raised wonderful pole beans (three varieties) and now a big yield of mammoth gold and red tomatoes plus flowers. Son Norman '56 has a huge garden all fenced in at his new home, high on a Randolph hill. He is president of the wire company in Bethel, Vt., and has two sons in high school, a freshman and a sophomore."

Eric Ball: "two sons, one Colgate, one Dartmouth '43, just back from Iran in the interest of shipping; now reassigned to Louisiana, three grandchildren."

Rose Belding: "We will always miss Hi greatly. We have five children and 19 grandchildren. Our oldest son, H III, a surgeon in Riverside, Calif. Bill, the next, lives in Pasadena and is manager of the Broadway Stores in Los Angeles. Dave, the youngest, is in the investment business in Chicago, as was his father. He is with Mesirow and Co. on La Salle St. One daughter, Ann lives on Mercer Island, Seattle, Wash. They have five children. Mary . . . also has five and lives in Wisconsin."

Tom Bryant: "By the time you use this I'll be in my retirement pasture . . . Attended a Philly luncheon recently. Moose Engelhart '14 (all American tackle) looked younger than I."

Billie Bemis: The'Bemises have stayed put in Cleveland since returning from our winter in Lake Wales, Fla., at the Highland Park Club. We plan to spend Jan., Feb. and March there again this winter. We have 6 grandchildren and an 11 month old great-granddaughter."

Amos Blandin: "Trying cases and writing opinions for courts and still enjoying it as usual. Children and grandchildren well."

Katharine Carleton: "I'm quite well, thank you, at present at my summer place, Kinnikinnick Farm, Rt. 2, River Falls, Wis. 54022. Went to N.E. for last Xmas visiting daughter Ann Proctor, sons Fred P. Jr. and Frank H. This Xmas I'll go to California and visit two other sons John L. and Joseph G. I have 14 grandchildren, one recently married . . ihe newlyweds live in Millville, N.J., as does my son, Frank."

Ruth Glover: "Haven't seen any of the '18ers in awhile but plan to be with the Morrisons in Hanover for the first football game. The Glover family is we" and my granddaughter Cynthia was married in June and her older brother is to be on September 20. I have a grandson John, a senior at "D". He is a tennis and squash player and a great delight to us all."

At Gottschaldt: "It is said that those of our era live in the past. Perhaps so. But that doesn't prevent some of us from hoping the next Pow-Wow (mid March) will be the best attended ever. If we could look forward to six or eight more Pow-Wows that might be different. Hope you will really plug it." Al, you have really plugged it and I can't imagine a better plugger. I'm with you all the way. "Benny Mugridge is Pow-Wow chairman." I cannot imagine a better choice.

Cort Horr: "There is not much to report since our nice get-together at the Holiday Inn, Willowbrook, except the sad news about the Healeys which I phoned you. Marian joins me in sending you and your nice wife our best wishes."

Linda Wright: "1st, I am just great (Thank you, God); 2nd, today I have been driving a truck back and forth to the hay crew with lunch, gas, grease, etc. I have spent some time at Newport Beach but mostly here on the ranch. Have seen no '18ers - sorry to say. Have four grandsons and four granddaughters (ages 22-14) one grandson at U. of Nevada, two granddaughters at Stanford - one of whom has cut most of our hay this summer. Still have hopes of one or more going to Dartmouth. Surely enjoy TheRoar.

Betty Shirley Day sends news of Tom and Priscilia: "Priscilla and I have enjoyed the many letters and cards from the '18ers during the last year. Tom wants you to know how much they have meant. We shall be thinking of you all, especially during the Dartmouth-Harvard weekend." The Shirleys' address is Lark-Ellen Towers, 1350 E. San Bernardino Rd., West Covina, Calif.
