Up here in Vermont with the temperature - 10 degrees, we are holed up for comfort and convinced that that groundhog saw his shadow. How are you classmates enjoying winter in your respective areas?

Our newly-elected president, Bob Scott is currently seeking two replacements for membership on the executive committee. To refresh your memory - that committee is the governing body of the Class. There are 13 members elected by the Class at each five-year reunion. While the present committee had interim powers to appoint new members to fill vacancies, it seems appropriate to also ask for suggestions from the Class. So if you have a likely candidate in mind, please let us know.

Len Reade is a man of a few words but a bearcat for action. Because of the loss of members of the Class, it becomes increasingly difficult to get the manpower to help him and also to make up for the inevitable decrease in the number of contributions. So if Len writes to you, do give him a hand and a few extra dollars for this year's 1917 Alumni Fund.

We are pleased to learn that Phil Evans is back in good form. In fact, we hear that on a recent business trip to New York he presented such a convincing picture of affluence that he was unceremoniously relieved of his wallet. Take care henceforth, Phil - even in Boston.

Vic Smith is recovering from a mild attack of the flu. When he is in good voice, he serves as leader of a group of choristers in his own bailiwick.

Since at our age, five years seems a long time between official reunions, we urge classmates to give serious consideration to the annual Post-50 reunions. The programs are interesting, the cost modest, and they offer an opportunity to keep in touch with fraternity brothers and friends from contemporary classes. This year, it will be June 9 to 12, an ideal time to visit Hanover.

We were saddened last month by the sudden passing of our friend, classmate, and bequest chairman, Rober P. Stone. Roger was with us at our fall gathering in Hanover and appeared in good health. He had a deep interest in the Class, and because of his work for us and the College as chairman of the Bequest Program, his death has left a void which will be difficult to fill. An obituary, written by his son Bill '50, will appear in this issue.
