I'm grateful to Sandy McGinness for some news about our Reunion June 13-15. Schram and Bartles have arranged for Arnie ("Woo Woo") Ginsberg, noted R&R Deejay at Boston's WBZ during our halcyon Hanover years, to conduct one of his world famous record hops (prizes, old sounds, and beer) in our tent Friday night. More than one '64 found "Woo Woo's" invitations to "Come on down to Adventure Car Hop on Route 128 in Saugus" irresistible, especially on G. I. night. On Saturday of Reunion, we'll have a "Casino Night" operation, replete with high stakes gambling. And we'll also get to see the '64 Football Highlights film. I'll pass along more information as it becomes available.
Cheers to Paul Feinberg, a new partner in the Newark law firm of Clapp & Eisenberg. Paul and Diane, his wife, live in Florham Park, N.J., and look forward to renewing old acquaintances at our Reunion.
John Carpenter is studying for an M. A; in education, and will pursue the Ph. D. next. Carps is interested in a career in college administration, and would like to locate around the Rocky Mountains. His wife Nan has interested him in skiing, and his young son Kent will start playing hockey this winter.
Cheers to G. Brewster Cole upon his promotion to vice president of Johnson & Higgins, a Wall Street insurance brokerage. And hearty congratulations to Joe Delcore who was married in June to a fellow Boston attorney, Barbara. Nels Carman was on hand for the ceremonies. And wedding bells have also claimed Frank Meyers, who married the former Susan Fellows of Hillsborough Park, Calif., in October. Frank reports that he is a partner in a San Fransisco venture capital firm, and all is going quite well.
64's favorite cowboy, Brian McMahon continues as president of Inmont Corporation's operations in Venezuela. Brian is currently involved in corporate expansion negotiations in Chile and Brazil.
George Lewin is running the pediatric emergency room at Los Angeles County Hospital. And Sukekatsu Ushioda is studying physics at the University of California at Irvine. He is interested in hearing from any '64 physicists.
Sandy Shapiro is studying for a degree in civil engineering at Florida International University here in Miami, and continues to do a little construction contracting in his free time. His new course of study has resulted in an inordinate weight loss, however, which must be compensated for by frequent infusions of zesty lagers.
This month's '64 Career Spotlight shines upon Gene Veto, who has relocated from the Windy City to New York. Gene is working on planning and acquisition at Frank B. Hall & Co., international insurance brokers and employee benefits consultants. Gene and Jeanie live in the City with their two children, Liza and Reid," and are eagerly anticipating our Tenth Reunion.
That's about it for the news bag. Please drop me a line with news about yourself or other '64's. Later.
Under the direction of Al Cook '62 (center), aided by Gordie De Witt '60 and John Scotford '38, plus a host of colleagues, Crosby Hallers produced their own version of theWinter Carnival Viking theme, "Vox Clamantis in Fjord."
