This past winter, when discretion was the better part of valor as indicated by the astute members of the Class, we have this summary of their indoor activity, READING.

Ken Ross told about the late Supreme Court Justice Holmes and the speech he gave on his 90th birthday. Ken concluded "It is an inspiration to know something about these great men."

Ev Parker sends a clipping from the WallStreet Journal about Alumni Fund raising in the Ivy colleges in 1975. Princeton receives contributions from 57 per cent of its alumni with the average contribution $146, Dartmouth receives from 58 per cent with an average of $179. Yale from 41 per cent with average contribution $279, and Harvard 35 per cent participation with an average of $228.

Al Lawton in addition to his winter activities was surprised to read new records on his thermometer which added to the "chill factor" brought the record to 50 and 70 below zero.

Your secretary is in the midst of William Manchester's The Glory and the Dream which brings back those hectic years we lived through wondering what would happen next.
