Tom Laughlin was not here, but his boss from the Gillette Company was at Columbia Business School in late January, to tell a group of students about the development, promotion and success of the "Cricket" lighter. As assistant product manager for the highly successful product, it appears that Tom has been doing excellent work at Gillette. I currently serve as secretary of the American Marketing Association here, which arranged for Tom's boss to be on hand.
Henry and Gretchen Homeyer visited Hanover briefly in January before returning to Cameroon, West Africa, where they are managers of a handicraft cooperative. They hitchhiked across the Sahara in 1972 and found their job after spending three months developing a social studies curriculum on the Bamenda grasslands. An account of their activities is scheduled for publication in the new magazine, Mariah. Henry and Gretchen (Mt. Holyoke '70) will be living in Cameroon for one more year after which they hope to return to their home in Cornish Flat, N.H., according to Henry, and "start a weasel farm."
