The choice of the Holy Cross weekend back in September to hold the class executive committee meeting was fine as far as assuring a nottoo-crowded time to return to Hanover. But the weather was miserable. The winning Big Green field goal in the closing seconds warmed everyone's hearts, however, after an uncomfortable afternoon sitting in the drizzle at Memorial Field.

The committee meeting, held in the morning at the Hanover Inn, was productive. After a number of years of debate (but no action) on a class project, the committee voted unanimously to sponsor a young man or woman in Dartmouth's student intern program. The committee decided the Class should make at least a two-year commitment to the program.

Plans for next year's 30th reunion were discussed with the College's Dave Orr. It shapes up as another exciting gathering with a variety of events which should interest everyone. The dates, remember, are June 12, 13, and 14.

Highlight of the Holy Cross weekend, I understand, was a dinner Saturday night at Moose Mountain Ski Lodge, an event our family had to miss. I'm sorry we weren't there for the fine food, good talk, and general spirit of friendliness and warmth which I understand the evening provided.

Further details may be obtained from those there: Townes and Joan Harris, the HughChapins, Frank and Ursula Weber, the LansingReeds, Alan and Sally Epstein, Ham Chase (Dottie was recuperating from an operation), the George Binghams, and the Andy McCullochs and son and their guests from Scotland. There'll be another class get-together during the winter. Look for the announcement of details.

Also attending the executive committee meeting was Ed Senghas, whom I hadn't seen since the 25th reunion. Ed is running his own business now and enjoys being his own boss. Seen around Hanover over the weekend, too, were Dexter Brooks and Mike Pender.

And since this report is all about Hanover happenings, it's appropriate to report that the Dartmouth National Bank has announced the election of H. Richard Wilking as vice president in the trust division. He formerly was vice president of First National Bank of Chicago, where his work included responsibility as head of the retirement and endowment funds division and chairman of the trust investment committee.
